Chapter ten

-Kiana's POV-

I wake up because my phone rings. I swear I'm going to kill the twins if one of them calls me because of a stupid argument. "What's that noise?" Nathan asks, sounding sleepy. "My phone." I answer also sleepy as I search it. "How late is it?" Nathan asks me. "Eight o'clock." I answer. "That's way too early for me to be awake." I smile at him in response and smile even bigger when I finally found my phone.

"Hello?" "Kiana, you need to come!" Shane says, sounding very anxious. "What's wrong?" I ask him, suddenly fully awake. Shane is just like Lyla, he doesn't show his weaknesses. So now that I hear him like this, I immediately know that something happened. "It's Shayna, I can't find her!" He says, beginning to panic. "Calm down, when did you last see her?" I ask him while I sit up in my bed. "Last night, we were walking in the city and suddenly she wasn't following me anymore! Kiana, I searched everywhere for her!" "Calm down, you won't help her by getting a heart attack. Where are you now?" I say to him. "I don't know, I've walked around this whole city. I got lost a long time ago." "You looked the whole night for her? Why didn't you call me earlier?" "Can you just come?" He asks me. "How am I supposed to come to you, when you don't even know where you are?" "I'll see you, stupid. Just walk around in the city and I'll come to you when I see you." "Okay, I'm coming." I say to him. "Please hurry." He says before hanging up.

I look at Nathan to see that he's looking at me, worried. "I need to go." I say to him. "Why? What happened?" "It's my brother, he can't find my sister." "Do you want me to help you look for her?" He asks sitting up in his bed. "No, that would only make it worse. Thanks anyway." I say as I get out of the bed. When I get out of it, I remember that I'm only wearing my underwear, but I don't care right now. I get dressed and look back at Nathan. A smile appears on my face when I see that he looks at the wall, making sure that he doesn't see me get dressed. "Thanks, again." I say to him which makes him look at me with a smile. "Good luck." He says to me. "Thanks, I'm going to need it." I say to him before walking out of the room. I then walk to the bathroom and change in my powerful form. After looking around me, I teleport away.

-Lyla's POV-

I open my eyes and look around me. There's a little animal next to me in the tree, he's looking at me, observing me. "You're a smart one, aren't you?" I say to him. He looks at me for a moment before jumping of the branch to a branch of another tree. "Show off." I say to him. He looks back at me, but runs away afterwards. "Look at you, you're almost smiling." I hear someone say, which causes me to lose my balance and fall.

"For someone who's always talking about enemies, you're easy to startle." Alex says with a smile as he catches me. "Let me go." I say annoyed to him. "Okay, but only because you asked it so kindly." He says as he puts me down. "Thanks." I say as look at him. "You're welcome." He says to me, smiling.

"What are you doing here this early?" I ask him. "It isn't early, it's almost nine o'clock and I didn't go home." He answers, as he stops smiling. "You slept here? In the woods?" "Yes, I did. It was amazing! I haven't slept that good in a while." "Why did you sleep here?" "It was late and I was too lazy to go to home." "You should have. It can be dangerous in the woods at night." I say to him which makes him smile again. "What do I hear now? Are you worried about me?" "No, not really. I'm just warning you." "Yeah right. Be honest, you would miss me if I wouldn't come to you." "Why would I miss someone who always wants to talk? Someone who watches me as I sleep? Someone who has startled me twice, which made me fall out of a tree?" "Okay, firstly, I never forced you to talk with me. secondly, I watched you sleep once. And lastly, it's not my fault that you fell twice, you should be happy that I caught you twice."

"Yes, you touched me twice." I say annoyed to him. "Yes I did, isn't that forbidden?" He asked me as he stops smiling and looks worried at me. "It is." "Oh, I hope that your siblings aren't mad at you." "I don't know, I haven't seen them in a while." "You haven't?" "No, like I told you before, I like being alone." "But they'll be mad when they see you?" "No, they won't know." "They won't?"

I put my right hand in front of his eyes and let it glow. "What are you doing?" He asks me. He doesn't sound scarred, though, he sounds curious. Weird. I don't respond and move my hand slowly away from his eyes. He blinks a few times and looks shocked at me afterwards. "What are those?" He asks as he points at my body. "That are the places you touched me." "I touched you that much?" He asks surprised. "You Earthlings don't mind touching, so for you this is shocking. For me and everyone on Solniana, this is normal." "And your siblings will see this?" "No." "No?"

I use my power and light up my body. I put my right hand on my left shoulder and slowly move it down to my left hand. Afterwards I put my left hand on my tight shoulder and do the same. After doing that, I put my hands on my upper leg and slowly move them down to my ankles. When I'm done, I turn my body back to normal and look back at Alex, who's looking intently at me.

"What were you doing?" "Do you see any marks on my body?" "No." "Then you know what I did." "You're able to remove them?" "Yes I am." "I didn't know that you could do that." "It's something that you normally can't do." "But you can, why?" "It's something I learned." "From who?" "My father." "Ryan?" "Yes, him." I say as I turn around and start to walk away.

"What happened to him?" He asks as he walks next to me. "I don't want to talk about him." "Okay, can you then tell me what happened to your mother?" "I don't want to talk about her either." "And your-" He starts, but stops when I interrupt him. "I don't want to talk about my parents, my siblings, my cousins, my uncles or my aunts." "Why not?" "I don't see why it's your business, it's my family not yours. I don't ask you about your family, so why are you asking me about mine?" "It's just because your father once lived here." "That's no excuse."

"I know, I'm sorry." He says as he stops walking and looks down. "Y-You're sorry?" I ask him as I stop walking too and look at him. "Yes, I'm sorry that I made you upset." He says, but doesn't look at me. "You're sorry..." "Yes, I am." He says as he looks at me. "What's wrong? Did I say something wrong?" He asks, sounding worried. "You didn't, I just forgot how that sounded." "How what sounded? An apology?" "Yes, that, it's been a long time since I heard one." I say to him.

He looks at me for a moment and walks closer to me afterwards. He surprises me by suddenly hugging me. "I don't know what you've been through and I'll probably never know. But please, if you ever do want to talk or just need someone, know that I'm here for you." "Thanks Alex." I say to him. "I'll remember that." I say to him as he looks at me. He looks me in the eyes and smiles. I look in his eyes and smile at him. It's a little smile, but it's been a long time since I last smiled. Just like it's been a long time since I felt this wanted. Seeing my little smile, makes his smile wider. I surprise him but also myself by hugging him back and putting my head on his shoulder.
