A Royal Love: Royal Problems

Chapter twelve

-Shayna's POV-

"Where are we going?" I ask Mike's dad. "To the castle." He answers. "Why?" "To talk to the royals. If we really can trust you, then you'll have to prove it." He answers me. "And how do I do that?" "By telling them everything they need to know." He answers me. I don't ask him another question. I shouldn't have agreed to follow him, then I would be at home -well, Mike's home- lying in bed or watching television.

When we arrive at the castle, everyone who we pass stares at us. They're probably wondering what a bunch of policemen and I are doing here. I look at Mike, who is walking next to me, and smile when I see how he's looking all around him. He's just like a little kid in a candy store, it's just too cute.

As we enter a room, I see Jack with a woman. They're looking at us. "My prince, my princess, this is the alien." Mike's dad says to them as he points at me. Jack and the woman look at me, or better said, stare at me. "Can you stop calling me an alien? I feel like some green weird thing with a big head and completely black eyes." I say to Mike's dad which makes Mike chuckle.

"Why aren't you in your powerful form?" Jack asks me. "I don't like being in that form when I don't need to, it's exhausting." I answer as I look at him. "But you and your siblings told me that you were in that form to protect yourself." He says to me, sounding confused. "We don't need to be in that form to protect ourselves." "Then I don't understand." Jack says, still confused. "I don't understand it either, I just do what my sister tells me to do." "The heir?" Mike's dad asks me. "Yes, she's the one who wanted to come to this planet, she's the one who wanted me and my other siblings to kill those people and she's the one who's always in her powerful form." "So, you're just following orders without thinking?" Mike asks me astonished. "Yes."

"Can you tell us about your siblings?" Jack asks me. I look at him suspiciously. "We just want to understand them, that's all." Mike says to me as he puts his hand on my shoulder. I look at him. "Fine, it's not like I have something to lose..." I say to him and look at Jack. "As you know, we're the children of Mirella and Ryan." He nods and smiles at me, happy that he'll finally know what's going on.

"They had four children, three girls and one boy. The eldest is Kiana. She's dangerous because you never know what she's planning. She's able to control the mind of every living creature and make it do exactly what she wants it do. She's especially known for killing those who are unfaithful. So, if she kills someone, you know why that person is dead. You can't trust her. Ever. She's an excellent liar, only those who are able to sense lies know when she's lying." "She sounds terrifying!" Mike says to me. "She's the least dangerous of my siblings." I say to him which makes everyone's eyes go wide.

"Shane is my twin brother. We were always together except for when we sleep, get dressed and go to the bathroom or take a shower. His power is controlling the eyes of someone. He can make someone blind or colour blind. He can make them only see a specific colour and some more things that he never uses. He's the only person I ever trusted and the only friend I ever had. So, it's an understatement to say that he means a lot to me. Because I love him so much, he's my everything." I say as I smile thinking back at amazing things we did. I can see Mike smile at me from the corner of my eyes. He's not the only one who's smiling, everyone always smiles when they hear me talk about Shane. I suddenly stop smiling.

"And now I will lose him. Because of what happened, he will hate me and will try his best to make sure I'll be punished the way I should be." I say to them as I look back at Jack, who is looking sad at me. "What is your punishment?" He asks me. "Banishment." I say to him which makes them all, except Mike, look surprised at me. "He would banish you?" Jack asks surprised. "No, he would ask the heir to do it and she'll do it." They all become silent when I say this.

"That brings me to the last sibling, the heir, Lyla. To be honest, I don't know her that well." "You don't know your own sister?" Jack asks me surprised. "Nobody knows her, she's always alone and avoids everyone except for mom."

"Right, your sister told me about that." Jack says to me. "Kiana? She talked to you?" I ask him. "Yes, when she was waiting on your brother. She told me that the heir is horrible to be with." He says to me which makes everyone look at me, curious. "She is, I never met anyone like her." I answer him. "Why is she that horrible?" Mike asks me. "She just makes it very clear that she doesn't want to be with you. If she is with us, she never talks to us, she just observes. That's all she does, observing. She hasn't any friends, she never leaves the castle. She knows a lot about what's going on in Solniana, but she doesn't tell us. She has a lot of secrets." "Sounds lonely." Mike says to me. "It must be, but she has serious trust issues. So, she'll never open up to someone or even let someone be close to her before taking her distance."

"Is that why she's always in her powerful form?" Jack asks me. "I think so, it's not like she told us. Now that I think of it, I can't remember the last time she wasn't in her powerful form." "But isn't that exhausting for her? "Mike asks me. "Normally it would be, but she doesn't seem to be exhausted or even tired. But like I said, she has trust issues so she wouldn't tell us even if she was exhausted." "So, she doesn't trust her own siblings?" Jack asks me surprised. "She trusts nobody, except for mom."

"So, what happened to them?" The woman next to Jack asks suddenly. I almost forgot she was there. I look at her, but don't answer. "You said that your sister trusts nobody except for your mother, that means that something happened to them. Otherwise she wouldn't trust your mother like she doesn't trust you and your other siblings." The woman says to me. "I don't know what happened." I say to her. "She just loves to be around mom. I'm just happy that she isn't alone when she's with mom." I say to her before looking at Mike's dad. "Can I go now?" I ask him. He looks at Jack and the woman before looking back at me. "All right, you may go." "Finally." I say to him and look at Mike. "Let's go." I say as I start to walk.

I stop walking which makes Mike, who was following me, stop too. "What's wrong?" He asks me worried. "Be quiet. I'm listening." I say to him. "I think I see her!" "Where?" I hear Shane and Kiana say. "Oh no." I say as I look around me. "What's wrong? What did you hear?" Mike asks me as he puts his hand on my shoulder. I look at his hand and then at him, smiling. "What?" He asks me confused. He is even more confused when I suddenly hug him. He hugs me back. "I didn't know that you needed a hug." He says to me, but I don't respond and keep listening to hear Shane or Kiana. "She disappeared." I hear Shane say to Kiana. "Maybe she teleported?" Kiana says to Shane. I stop hugging Mike when I hear their voices grow silent. "Sorry, but Shane saw me." I say to him. "Your brother? He's that close?" Mike asks me. "He isn't, he's just able to see far ahead and I'm able to hear him."

"Aren't you supposed to avoid touching him?" Jack asks me. "I am, but like I said, I'm going to be banned. What do I have to lose?" I say to him. "Maybe you should still avoid that, I don't want your siblings to hurt my son." Mike's dad says to me. "Don't worry, they won't. Besides, if they would do that, I would protect him." I say to him. "Like he has protected me." I continue, looking at Mike while I smile. "Let's go now. I don't like it here." I say before turning around to walk away. 

My eyes grow wide when I see Lyla standing in the doorway. She doesn't look angry; didn't she hear what I told just now? She's just looking at us, no expression on her face like always. "Lyla." I say which makes everyone look at her.
