-Lyla's POV-
I open my eyes when I feel the sun shine on my face. Mom was right, sleeping in the woods is amazing. "Good morning." I hear below me which makes me fall out of the tree I was lying in. Just when I was about to use my power, I stopped falling. "That was close, are you okay?" "Let...me...go." I say calmly. He smiles and doesn't move. I look angry at him. "I said, let me go!" I yell at him, but he still doesn't move. I sigh deeply and use my power to warm myself up. "Ow! You're burning! Are you sick?" He says as he drops me on the ground. "I was sick of being in your arms." I answer as I get up and clean my clothes. "I think you burned my hands!" He says as he looks at his red hands. "Probably. That's what you get when you scare me and touch me!" I yell at him angrily and walk away. "Lyla, wait. I didn't want to scare you." He says as he follows me.
"I just woke up and you were here. Were you looking at me while I slept? Are you following me?" I ask him as I stop walking and look at him. "I'm not following you." "But you did watch me sleep?" I ask him. He looks down. "Only for a little bit." "You creep! Just leave me alone." I say to him as I walk away. "Lyla, it's not what you think." He says as he walks next to me. "Leave me alone."
"I come here every morning. To watch the sunrise, to see the woods come to life. It's amazing. Today I saw you, you're the only person I've ever seen that even when she sleeps, isn't at peace. Why is that?" "There isn't such a thing as peace." "Of course there is!" "No, there isn't. In life you always have to fight, if you don't fight, then you die. Tell me, isn't that the opposite of peace?" "You need to stop thinking that life is a battlefield, you can't live like that." "I'll stop doing that when life finally stops being so hard." "Have you tried to ask for help?" I stop walking when he asks me that. He stops walking too and looks at me. "Nobody can help me." "How do you know that, when you never asked?" "Just... Leave me alone." I say to him and continue walking.
"Lyla." He says as he grabs my wrist. "Life can be hard, believe me, I know. But it's much harder when you're alone. I know that you don't trust me and I can't blame you for that. But please, know that I really want to help you. I also know how it's like to feel alone. I just want you to know that if you ever want to talk or just want company, I would be honoured to be the person you would go to. And when you would come to me, I promise you that whatever you say to me, I'll never tell to anyone else." He says to me and he lets go of my wrist. I look at my wrist and then at him. He looks me in the eyes. He isn't smiling, he's being serious, how can he care about how I feel? We just met. I don't understand him. "Thank you, that's very nice of you." I say after a while to him. He smiles at me.
"I need to go home; will you be here tomorrow?" He asks me. "No, I don't feel safe as I sleep at the same place twice." "Oh, okay." He says sounding sad. "But, I'll be close." I say to him to which he smiles. "Good, now I have something to look out for." "I'll see you tomorrow, Alex." I say to him which makes him smile even more. "Yeah, don't get in too much trouble today." He says as he walks away. "That I can't promise." "I knew you would say that." He says, still walking.

-Kiana's POV-
I woke up because of Shane and Shayna. "What's going on?" I ask them sleepy. "Kiana, good, you're awake. Tell Shane that there's no one on that roof." Shayna says to me. "No, tell Shayna that there's someone." Shane says to me. "What are you talking about?" I ask them confused. "Shane sees some woman, but I don't see her." Shayna answers. "A woman?" I ask Shane. "Just look." He says as he points to a building. "And? Do you see her?" Shayna asks me. "No, the roof looks empty." I answer. "There is someone! I can see a woman on that roof." Shane says to us. "Is that woman an earthling?" I ask him. "I don't know, probably." "There is no one, you just think you see her." Shayna says to him. "I'm not crazy, Shayna!" Shane says angrily to her.
