Chapter twenty-six

-Lyla's POV-

A dark light suddenly appears in front of me, on the other side of Alex, which silences everyone. When the light is gone, we see Serea. She looks in my eyes and I in hers. We're both completely black, not a little bit of hope in either of us. We keep looking at each other while the others are silently watching. Then, I see a little bit of white in her eyes. Before I can react to it, she breaks our eye contact and looks at Alex. She surprises everyone by suddenly becoming lighter and putting her hands on his chest. Then suddenly white light appears under hands onto Alex.

When the light disappears, she takes her hands of his chest and just looks at him. "Ow, w-what hap-happened?" Alex suddenly asks as he opens his eyes. "L-Lyla, what happened to you?" He asks me worriedly as he slowly sits. "You-You're alive!" I say as I suddenly hug him. "Uh, yeah." He says very confused. "Alex, you're back!" His mother says as she and Jack walk closer to the shield. "I'm confused. What are you talking about?" He says to them. I stop hugging him and look at him. "You were dead." I say to him. "I was?" "Yes, you were. Ryan attacked you." Serea says to him which makes him look at her. "He did? Wait, aren't you supposed to be an evil spirit?" He asks her. "I couldn't let you die and let my heir become dark." She answers him.

"You turned dark because of me?" Alex asks me as he looks worriedly at me. "I didn't want to lose you, I care for you." I answer him. "I know you do." He says smiling to me. "And I'll try to make you light again." He says as he holds my hands. I smile at him before I lean in and kiss him. He immediately kisses me back and pulls me closer.

After our kiss, we look to each other. He smiles when my hair and eyes become lighter. "Finally." Serea says which makes us look at her. "You need to become queen as soon as possible." She says to me to which I nod. Suddenly she starts shaking a bit and becomes darker. "I must go." She says before she teleports away.

The shield around us disappears and Alex's family immediately run towards him. I stand up and look at them. "I'm glad you're alright." Kiana says as she and Shayna walk to me. "Serea was right, you need to come as soon as you can back to Solniana and claim the crown." Aunt Rose says to me. "I know." I answer her. "Do you know why Serea was lighter for a moment?" Aunt Lucinda asks me curiously. "No, I just saw that something made her light and it wasn't me." I say as I close my eyes and change back into my powerful form. "I didn't know that you had a third form, what is that for?" Jack asks me. "That's my spirit form, that's the form I need for my bound with Serea. It also shows how light or dark I am." I answer him. "Ella's spirit form is completely black, so Serea is completely dark. When Lyla becomes queen, Serea will become like Lyla, grey." Uncle James continues.

"Why isn't Ella here? Or Maria?" Jack asks my aunts and uncles. "Ella never lives the castle." Aunt Lucinda answers. "And Maria isn't allowed to leave our house." Uncle Jason continues. "Why not?" Jack's mother asks him. "We don't have time for this, we need to go back to Solniana." Shane says to her as he walks towards me, Kiana and Shayna. "I need to see Nathan before I leave." Kiana says, looking at me. "And who is that?" Kaylee, our cousin, asks her with a big smile. "Kaylee, we're going." Uncle Jason says to her which makes her smile disappear. "But, we've just arrived!" "And now we're leaving." Uncle Jason says to her.

"Okay, teleport us all back except for the royal children." Uncle Jason says to Uncle Garrett. "You can go too dad, I'll stay with them." Another cousin of me, Connor says to uncle Garrett. "Are you sure?" "Yes, I'm the one who got them here. So, I'm the one who takes them back home." Connor says to his father. "Alright, you can stay. But be careful." Aunt Lucinda says to him. "That's unfair, he can stay but I can't!" Kaylee says to her father but he ignores her.

When uncle Garrett teleports them all away, I look at my siblings. "Go to this 'Nathan', but hurry." I say to Kiana. She nods and teleports away. "What about her?" Shane asks me, looking at Shayna. I look at Shayna which makes her look at me. "You'll stay here." I say to her. "So, I'm-" She starts but I interrupt her. "Banished? Not yet, I can't do that, only the queen can do that. Just stay here, it's the best for everyone." I say to her. "Okay." She says, clearly sad. "Farewell." I say to her which makes her look at me. "Yeah... goodbye. I'll miss you. Say bye to Kiana from me." She says to us. "Good luck." I say to her which makes her smile a little. "You too." She says before she teleports away. "Well, I have something to do before we leave." Shane says to me before he teleports away.
