Chapter twenty

-Lyla's POV-

I open my eyes when the sun shines in my face. As I jump out of the tree I slept in, I suddenly feel like I'm being watched. I look around me but don't see anybody. "Better get out of here." I say to myself as I start walking. I stop when I see a big animal look at me. He's looking at me with so much fear in his eyes. I continue walking but see more animals look at me with fear. The weird thing is that they're not afraid of me. They're afraid of what's going to happen. I stop walking when I see the little animal, the squirrel, look at me. Even he's looking afraid at me. "Stop looking at me like that! You're making me feel anxious!" I say to them which makes them all run away from me. I take a deep breath and continue walking.

After a while of walking around the city, I see a lot of people look at me. I ignore them and continue walking until a light appears in front of me which makes me close my eyes. "Lyla, I found you!" Shane says at me. "Did you really have to appear right in front of me? Now my eyes hurt." I say annoyed to him. "Sorry, but I need to say something important to you, Lyla." He says to me. "Shane, where are your manners?" I ask him annoyed. "Sorry. I need to say something important to you, my heir." "That's better. What is it?" I ask as I open my eyes now they don't hurt anymore. "What happened to you?" I immediately ask him. "That doesn't matter. You need to know what our sisters did-" He starts but he gets interrupted by Kiana when she appears. "Lyla don't listen to him!" "Seriously! My eyes!" I say annoyed to them while I close my eyes again. "Lyla, don't listen to Shane, he-" Kiana starts but Shane interrupts her. "No, Lyla, listen to me; she's lying!" "I'm not lying! You're overreacting!" "What?!" They yell at each other. "Stop it!" I yell which makes them both quiet. "You're like two little children! I don't care who did what or who's lying! I'm not even going to listen until you show some respect!" I yell at them before walking away from them.

"My heir, our sisters both committed a crime." Shane says to me as he follows me. "No! My heir, I didn't commit a crime." Kiana says but I don't reply to any of them. "My heir?" Shane asks me confused. I'm not listening to him and stop walking to look at a press conference. "My heir, are you alright?" Kiana asks me. I still don't reply, I'm too focused on the press conference. On a little stage I see Jack with some people next to him, all dressed up. But I'm not looking at them. I'm looking at Alex, who's standing next to Jack.

I slowly walk towards them, not believing my own eyes. "Lyla?" I hear Kiana ask sounding worried. "Y-You Jerk!" I suddenly yell which makes everyone look at me. "Excuse me?" Jack asks me surprised. "Not you!" I say as I walk closer. I stop when I'm next to the press, close but not too close to him. "H-How could you do this to me? How could you be this cruel?" I ask him which makes everyone look confused at me, but I'm looking at Alex and he's looking at me. "You told me to try and let people in, to let my guard down, to open up. Was it all just a lie?" I ask him. I know everyone looks even more confused to me now that the hurt is clearly audible in my voice.

"Lyla." Alex says to me which makes everyone look at him. "I can explain." He says as he walks towards me. "You can? Well, I don't want to hear it." I say to him as I turn around to walk away. "Lyla, wait." He says as he suddenly grabs my wrist. "Don't touch me!" I yell at him as I turn back around and get my wrist loose of his grip. "Lyla, I-" He says to me but I interrupt him. "How could you be so cold!? You kept telling me to open up, but you were lying right in my face! I should have known." I say to him, he doesn't say anything and just looks down. "The worst part is that you were actually succeeding." I say to him which makes him look at me again. "Really? That's amazing!" "No, it's not! You just proved me that I really can't trust anybody." I say to him as I look down. "Lyla, please, let me explain." "I'm so stupid! I-I even let you..." I say but stop and look back at him.

"You'll pay for what you did." I say calmly to him. No hurt in my voice audible, only anger. "What? But-" He starts but I interrupt him. "Mom was right, earthlings are not trustworthy. I'll make you pay!" I yell at him. "Lyla, don't do this." I hear Kiana say behind me but I ignore her. "I'll get my revenge! You'll all pay for what you've done!" I yell at not only Alex but every earthling that I see. "Lyla, they didn't do anything!" Kiana says to me. "No! Lyla, you're right. Let's make them suffer!" Shane says to me but I ignore them both.

"Lyla, no! don't do it!" Kiana yells at me when I put my left hand on my heart. I still ignore her. "Lyla, this is too much." Shane says to me, but I ignore him too. I close my eyes and take a deep breath. "I summon you." I open my eyes when I hear the people suddenly speak to each other, all with fear. I look at the black dust that's levitating in front of me. "They hurt us enough, make them suffer." I say to it which makes it fly away.

"What was that? What did you do?" Alex asks me which makes me look at him. "It was my revenge! Our revenge!" I answer him. "Revenge? Just let me explain!" He yells at me. "No! I will not fall for the same mistake twice!" I yell at him before teleporting away.

-Alex's POV-

"Lyla!" I yell but sigh deeply when I don't see her anymore. "What did you do to her!?" Lyla's brother yells at me while he walks to me but his sister stops him. "Don't. Lyla needs us more than he needs to be punished. We'll take care of him after we find Lyla." She says to him before teleporting away. He looks at me for a moment before he follows her.

"Alexander! What was that!?" Dad yells at me while he walks towards me. "How do you know her?" He asks as he stops walking when he's in front of me. "You remember the woman I was seen with on the beach?" I ask him as I look at him. "Yes." "That was her." I say to him. "You went on a date with the heir?" Dad asks me. "I think the better question is, you kissed the heir?" Grandfather says as he walks towards us with grandmother. "You already know the answer." I answer them.

"Why haven't you told us? She's dangerous!" Dad says to me. "I remember me saying that to you when you met her mother." Grandfather says to him. "That was different! Ella didn't want to kill us!" Dad replies. "No, but something happened on their planet." Mom says to dad as she walks towards us which makes us look at her. "We've all seen the video from Alex and the heir. She told him that something happened to her mother, something which made her collapse, something that changed her." Mom says to us. "She was talking about Ella... She told her own daughter to never trust anyone." Dad says to us.

"You need to go after her." Mom suddenly says to me which makes me look at her. "You've seen the state she was in, her siblings said it themselves. You need to find her, before they do." Mom says to me. "She wouldn't want to see me." I say to her while I look down. "You go to the place you think she'll be and if she's indeed there, then she wanted you to find her. If she isn't there, then you'll know that she doesn't want to see you." "But, mom-" "No but's, just go." She answers me. I look at her for a moment before nodding and leaving them, to find Lyla.
