Chapter 11 – Moment

CALUM'S POV

It's been 4 hours since we started our second mission and the plan is going really well. We killed two of the Nobles earlier and it was pretty great since there's not much casualties, except for Alex's huge wound on the stomach, the bruise on Miranda's back and the huge wound on Rena's thigh, in which Chrissy already treated. Other than those are just minor scratches here and there. They did put up a pretty good fight but we still defeated them.

FLASHBACK

I can see my comrades are getting pretty exhausted since we've been fighting for an hour now, starting from when we first spotted this Noble who is currently having an intense fight with Alex. The Noble managed to land a hit on Alex which caused him to grunt in pain and the Noble took that chance to kick Alex on the stomach and he went flying a few meters away. Damn, he's strong. Since Alex can barely stand up, Chrissy and Rena made their presence known while activating their cursed weapons and slashing here and there towards the Noble. It's two versus one but our team can only manage to land a few scratches on the Noble. That's how strong he is.

"Angelus Primarus!" I hear Miranda call out. I smirked and ran towards the opposite side of the battlefield. It's time.

"Field of Enervation!" I hear Miranda's voice again. A huge magic circle appeared below the Noble. He continued to fight still until a few seconds later, his moves started to slow down. Great, the magic is starting to take effect. The Field of Enervation is only effective on vampires and it's one of Miranda's unique skills, it takes away the strength of a vampire and makes their body heavy causing their movements to slow down.

I finally stopped running, gasping for air as I waited for Chrissy's signal. I can see Ashton and Michael on the opposite side and smirked as I saw their guns change in apperance, meaning that they already called their demons name which are Percennia Hirpinius for Michael and Ausonia Flavillus for Ashton. Ashton met my eyes and nodded.

"Vercundia Aquilius." I whispered and my bow changed in appearance. I got into my stance and waited for the signal.

Miranda's Field of Enervation was removed and we saw another Noble strangling her from behind. I mutter a curse as I saw the other Noble having an intense fight with Chrissy and Rena again.

"Stone Blast." I heard Michael and shot his guns at the Noble with Miranda. The Noble tried to dodge but two bullets managed to hit him at the back of his shoulder and the other one at the back of his knee and that earned him to loosen his grip around Miranda's neck and Miranda hit him with her scepter, digging the other end to his stomach causing him to grunt in pain. Miranda ran to where Ashton and Michael are as Michael's magic bullets started to take effect on the Noble. His body started to turn into stone starting from the bullet wounds.

"Hit it, Ashton." Michael said.

"On it, Mike. Stone Cannon." Ashton said, he got into his stance and shot a magic bullet towards the Noble's forehead. And in no time, he turned into dust. Michael and Ashton grinned at each other and fist-bumped. However, our little celebration was cut off when we heard Rena yelp in pain. Shit, we totally forgot about the other vampire.

"Miranda, how long until the cool off is over?" I asked her.

"2 minutes, Calum." she answered. Miranda's Field of Enervation needs 15 minutes to cool down after casting it and it needs intense concentration and when interrupted it'll cause the magic to stop just like what happened earlier. Alex can barely stand because of the wound on his stomach and Rena's out of the picture. Chrissy is still putting up a fight with the other and stronger Noble.
