Chapter 21 – Demon

CALUM'S POV

I gulped as a surge of overwhelming power enveloped Brendon, I can even feel his bloodlust just by his stare. Shivers ran down my spine as I shakily grip my sword tight, preparing myself on what is to come. Brendon swung his sword at me and I blocked, stopping it with my sword, with all my mouth. Our blades are still fretting against each other as we both applied our forces on it hoping to make the other one fall.

"Press Impact." Brendon whispered, my eyes widened as I attempted to jump back and avoid the impact but I was too late. A heavy force hit my whole body causing me to fly back a few meters away, my back hitting the ground hard. I grunted in pain but I managed to stand up again. No, I'm not giving up. I need to buy Luke enough time.

I applied pulled force and swung my sword to the ground, the sharp edge touching the ground and calling out, "Terra Break!". And with that, a series of cracks were formed on the ground, directing towards where Brendon was standing. Fortunately, he can't escape my attack because before he could even make a move, the earth already swallowed him whole causing a huge lump to form on the surface. I sighed in relief, that should keep him away for awhile.

But I spoke too soon.

"Round Cut." came a muffled voice from inside and in an instant, Brendon was out and was glaring at me.

I gulped. Shit. But atleast Luke is almost done.

LUKE'S POV

I'm getting closer to the Eden and every step I take, my body keeps on getting heavy. What is this? Is this the effect of the connection I have with my clone? I put my forearm over my eyes, just to shield them from the blinding light in front of me as I reached my other hand to grab hold of my clone's hand and I heard him gasp, his eyes were back to normal and the kunais that are attached to the chains that kept on attacking Calum's comrades fell limp. Everything went silent.

"Hey, are you okay?" I asked my clone.

He was silent and was staring into nothing. I sighed. I turned back to Calum to see him already looking at me. I diverted my gaze to Brendon and to say that he was pissed and angry would be an understatement. He wants to kill me. I took a step back, but my grip stayed on my clone's hand.

Brendon started to walk towards me but I stood my ground. Yes, I was scared but I'm not gonna show him that.

"How dare you ruin our plans..." He muttered, loud enough for us to hear.

I narrowed my eyes and loosened my grip on my clone then got into my fighting stance.

"It was bound to happen, Brendon. You can't just do whatever you want." I said, a sudden surge of confidence came to me.

"You don't even know why I'm doing this... You don't know that I'm actually doing you a favor! We want to get rid of everyone because everyone is so fucked up! They deserve this! They deserve to die! All we ever wanted was to create a world where everyone can be happy, where everyone can get what they want!" Brendon screamed in fury as he ran in his fastest pace, swinging his sword at me.

I blocked with full force. Shit. He's strong.

"Luke!" Calum called out while running towards us.

"Cal!" I jumped back as Brendon swung another attack at me.

"I'm your enemy, Brendon, don't bring Luke into this!" Cal said, holding onto his weapon.

"You fucking shut your mouth, Calum, you know nothing! Sword Cannon!" Brendon swung his sword vertically towards Calum's direction and a blinding light came out of it.
