#9- Nandini Lashes Out

Manik squeezed her arms, "What did you just say?" his eyes had raging fire.

"Wahi jo tumne suna." Nandini looked straight into his eyes and glared back.

He squeezed her arms tighter and she wailed in pain, "Say it again?" his nostrils flared.

All kept on looking as she struggled to remove her arm from his iron grip. She struggled and struggled, until she finally removed her hand from his hold.
And gave him one tight punch on his cheek.

Time stilled as the class stared back at her... wide mouthed, in shock, disbelief, and every other related adjective the dictionary supports.

"I'll say it ten times. Because you guys," she pointed her finger, first at Manik, who had his hand on his cheek, still reeling from the shock, and then Cabir, "you guys are sick in your head. SICK." She shouted. She looked at the crowd who was staring at her in awe. "You All..." she said addressing the students, "Bohot pasand haina Fab5 ki ragging stories sunna, so listen to this." Her red eyes glared at Manik ferociously, "First I was your target, for no reason. And you guys, you didn't even listen to your friend Dhruv." Tears welled up in her eyes as she spoke, "I didn't push him ever." She said loudly. "You pushed me off the stairs, I didn't say anything. You locked me up in the auditorium's sound control room, I still didn't retaliate. You almost had me drowned. BUT WHY THIS HATRED THAT YOU HARM MY BEST FRIEND HAAN?" She shouted.

The whole classroom was pin-drop silent. Navya, Cabir and Manik were standing dumbfounded. Professor Raghav, who had come listening to the chaos, too was standing silently, letting her lash out at the most dreaded creature of the college. She had been the only person, who dared to raise her hands on Manik, in the history of Space.

"Why did you bring her in between? Your revenge and hatred is for me na, toh uske upar apne gande tricks kyu khele? Mr Manik Malhotra, I bloody don't care tum trustee ke bête ho ya kisi empire ka heir, if anything would've happened to Navya yesterday, you would have regretted crossing my way ALL. YOUR. LIFE." Nandini pointed a finger at Manik, and warned him in all her sense.

Navya, Cabir, Manik, Raghav, even Dhruv standing amidst the students, looked at the now ferocious girl, seething in fury. A girl who wouldn't even get noticed had fab5 not targeted her.

Cabir didn't need a sixth sense to understand there was something really bad and twisted, that they had no idea of.

A concerned Cabir took a step forward towards Nandini, "Kal kya-" alas, Navya came in between, cutting him.

"Itna kuch kar diya tum logon ne. Aur bhi kuch bacha hai kya?" Navya glared at Cabir. "Tum paanch yaha college mein jitna chahe rob maaro. Lekin yaad rahe, iss college ke bahar bhi ek duniya hai, jo tumhare hisaab se bilkul nahi chalti."

"Navya kal kya-" poor Cabir was again cut by Nandini who looked at him in rage.

"Kal submission ka hum dekh lenge. Tum apna dekho." Nandini said, not understanding that Cabir was trying to ask about yesterday's incident. "And yes, don't think tum jo bologe hum wo karte rahenge. And if you even try to pull a stunt on Navya again, principal nahi, police bhi nahi, seedhe Media ke paas jaungi." She concluded, held Navya's hand and stormed out of the class not before taking her bag.

She muttered an apology to Raghav sir for spoiling his lecture and went away with navya following her. Raghav dismissed the class for the day. All left the class hurriedly, leaving Cabir, Dhruv and a raging bull a.k.a Manik behind.

Dhruv came towards Manik and spoke in a disappointed tone.
"I wish she had done this a bit before." He said referring to the punch, "Humne jo kiya uska koi reason nahi hai humare paas. And ab tu humse chhupane bhi lag gaya hai." Dhruv said in disbelief. Manik looked up not understanding what he meant.
