Venus leant her head against Finnick's back as he walked down the causeway carrying her after he had said she needed her rest, she wasn't complaining. The girl had her arms wrapped loosely his neck, his hands firmly holding onto her legs so she didn't fall. But as he slowed to a stop, she lifted her head and slid off his back; sitting underneath the tree next to Scout. She rested her head against Finnick's shoulder after he sat beside her, his warm wrapping around her shoulders; providing her with the little warm she desired.

'So besides Brutus and Enobaria, who's left?' Katniss asked.

'Maybe Chaff. Just those three,' Peeta stated.

'They know they're outnumbered. I doubt they'll attack again. We're safe here on the beach,' Finnick reminded them.

'So what do we do? We hunt 'em down?' Johanna sneered.

'I'm in for that,' Venus smirked.

It went silent for a moment before a piercing scream sounded in the distance, everyone looked around confused until a scared voice began screaming a certain name.

'Katniss, help me!' The voice screamed causing Katniss to stand instantly.

'Prim!' Katniss screamed as she began running; 'Prim! Prim!'

'No! Katniss! Katniss, wait!' Peeta yelled after her.

Everyone moved to follow her, weapons in hand as they jogged through the bush. Finnick and Venus ran ahead, being the fastest in the group would make it easier to catch up to the girl. They could hear screaming as they ran, before it all suddenly stopped; the pair bursting through the trees to find Katniss looking distraught.

'Katniss,' Finnick called; 'You okay?'

The girl nodded but as she did so a familiar voice began screaming, causing Venus to look directly at Finnick as he began looking around; it was Annie. He began running, calling the woman's name as the girls followed after him. Suddenly he stopped, but continued to call the girl's name.

'Finnick! It's not her,' Katniss said as she placed a hand on his shoulder; 'It's just a jabberjay. It's not her.'

'How do you think they got that sound?' Finnick retorted.

'Jabberjays copy,' Venus gasped.

That was when a very familiar voice began screaming her name, causing her to spin around in a circle trying to find the source.

'Venus!' The voice screamed.

'Tommy,' She whispered before she began screaming; 'Tommy! Tommy!'

She looked up to the sky to find tens of dozens of jabberjays flying around, before they began swooping them; causing the trio to duck down and begin running. The birds mimicked the familiar voices of their loved ones as they chased after them, scratching at their skin and hair. Venus screamed as she ran, covering her ears the best she could as she followed the pair in front of her.

Tears fell down her face at the pained tone of her little brother's voice, it hurt her; killed her actually, just like the Gamemakers wanted it to. It worried her as to how they got Tommy's voice sounding like this, the boy was usually always happy; the only time he wasn't was reaping day, the anniversaries of their family's deaths and when an animal died.

As Venus looked up she saw the others ahead, yelling at them but they couldn't hear a word until Katniss ran into an invisible wall; they were trapped. The girl from Ten collapsed, bringing her hands to her ears as she curled up into a ball and began screaming as tears fell faster down her face. It was driving her insane hearing Tommy's frightened voice and not being able to help him, make him happy again. She closed her eyes and sobbed, muttering Tommy's name over and over; hoping and praying that he was ok.
