Chapter 1 -A

General POV

"Do you really want to do this?" Ella asks taking off her pants and throws them to the ground.

"Yes and you do too." Austin replies pulling his shirt over his head and tossing it to where Ella just put her pants.

"But this seems so scary and dangerous." Ella says still slightly scared and not totally convinced that doing this is necessary.

"Awwee come on its fun. I've done it before. Besides it's on both of our summer bucket lists." Austin says still trying to convince Ella to cliff jump with him.

"I know but couldn't we have started with something a little less dangerous. You know something that doesn't threaten my life, like going to the zoo?" Ella suggests even though its 11:30 at night.

"Nope! You gotta start and end with thrill. Besides you're already in your bathing suit."

"Can't I just take this off my list?"

Austin, tired of Ella complaining, walks over, picks Ella up bridal style and runs off the cliff into the water. They plunge under the water and emerge seconds later at the same time.

"I hate you Austin!" Ella yells and splashes water at him and he turns away.

"I love you too!" He yells back and sticks his tongue out at her.

"You know what? You're crazy. You just had to make me put this on the list." Ella complains.

"Hey you made me put dye my hair, get a tan, and find true love. By the way one of those I don't think we're going to be able to achieve." He says looking Ella straight in her bright blue eyes.

"You're right we won't be able to get a good tan." She jokes and they both let out a small chuckle. "It was your idea to create the list anyways."

"Ya, because I didn't want to have a boring summer. This summer is going to be different and it's going to be awesome because we have the lists so we know exactly what we are going to do." Austin explains to her. "Because every other summer has been boring. We do the same old things and never go anywhere new. This list is going to make all the fun happen this year."

"I guess you are right." She tells him.

"Ella, when am I ever wrong?" He asks her and they both laugh.

"Can we get out of the water and go get dried off? I'm kinda getting cold." She asks him and fakes a shiver.

"I guess so." Austin replies, and they both swim back to shore.

They walk back up the giant hill they both just came off of and as soon as they get there Ella grabs her towel and wraps it around her wet body. Austin dries off his back and chest then wraps his towel around his waist. They gather their clothes and shoes then walk back to Austin's truck.

"You have to admit, that was pretty fun." Austin says breaking the silence once they get on the road towards their summer home.

"Ya but you didn't need to pick me up and jump into the water with me in your arms. I would have went in eventually." Ella says with a slight eye roll.

"If I hadn't picked you up we would still be at the top of the cliff," They both laugh because they know it's true. "and we have to get back before our parents notice that we snuck out or else." He says pointing his index finger at her.

"Oh whatever 'Mr. In-charge'." She says creating quotations with her fingers.

"Hey I am older than you." Austin says matter-of-factually.

"By 358 days." Ella states.

"Still older which makes me in charge." He says and they both laugh.

They drive in silence the rest of the way home, listening to the music that is playing on the radio.

"This is going to be a good summer." Ella says when they get into the driveway their summer house.

"Indeed it is." Austin says when he turns off the truck.

They sneak back into the house as silently as possible and manage to walk past everyone's rooms without waking them. They say their good nights and head off to bed.

(A/N: This is my new book The Summer Bucket List. What do you think about it so far? If you have any ideas of what things you would like to see Ella and Austin do over the summer leave a comment and it could be a part of their bucket list. Make sure you tell me if it would be something Ella (sweet, caring, innocent), or Austin (brave, bold, daring) would add to the list.

TTYL!!!!
