Chapter 16
Ella's POV
"Ok, I expect an apology now." I say once the parents leave us.
"You expect an apology? No Austin expects an apology from your brother." Hunter tells the group.
"And why should I give your brother an apology?" My brother questions Hunter.
"Because you told him it was his fault about what happened to Ella!" He replies, anger evident in his face.
"It partly was his fault," I say. "He was the one who let me come along with you guys." I tell them making Austin look down hurt written in his actions.
"You are the one who bagged me to let you come!" He yells at me.
"Ya but you're the one who still gave in! That's why you have all your one night stands! Or wait is that because of me? Can't say no t a pretty girl can you Austin?" I scream, trying to make him feel like crap.
"Oh my god Ella! Do you always have to put someone down to make you feel better?" Hunter spits at me.
"Why do you have to keep yelling at my sister?" Chace asks Hunter.
"Because she keeps yelling at my brother!" Hunter exclaims.
"Guys, we need to all calm down!" Austin says out of nowhere. "We have to try and get along if we are going to solve any of our issues."
"He's right guys. We need to figure this out." Chace chimes in.
"I have a suggestion," I tell them. "Why don't we just forget everything that happened?"
"You know what guys, Ella may be onto something." Hunter perks up.
"Ya it sounds good, but it would be awkward for when we are alone together because we all have our reasons to be mad." Chace explains ruining my good idea.
"And it's not a logical solution. We will still have the anger and it wouldn't be good for us." Austin says agreeing with my brother.
"Did you two just agree on something?" Hunter asks in shock.
"I think they did." I chime in. "We are all on the road to friendship recovery."
"This won't work guys. What about our parents you know they can see right through our lies." Hunter says.
"We can lie to our parents. It won't be that hard. I know we've all done it before. What happened yesterday for example?" Hunter says.
"Fine, if you think it will work, I guess I'll have to trust you." Chace tells me.
We all talk for a little while just so our parents think that we are getting along really well again. Deep down I feel like our parents could catch on if they really wanted to. After awhile we all stop talking, well we were just "talking" more like being quiet. I get board and go up to my room. I put on a pair of jean shorts and a white tank top. I walk downstairs and slip my sandals on and walk out the door.
"Where are you going?" Austin asks coming up behind me.
"To the carnival." I say in a flat tone.
"Can I come with you?" He asks me.
"I guess so." I reply.
We walk in silence until the carnival is in sight.
"So what do you think about crossing a few things off our list this week?" Austin says breaking the silence.
"Maybe, if I get an apology from all three of you boys for watching me at the party the other night." I spit out at him.
"Ella, are you really still going on about that! You almost got rapped and I wasn't watching you!" He yells at me.
"You were watching me at first! Then you decided getting drunk was more important then my safety. Even though I didn't want you guys spying on me!" I exclaim.
"We were not spying on you Ella! We were trying to protect you. This was your first party! You don't know what can happen. Ella, people actually have been rapped, people have gotten broken bones. Ella, we don't want you to get hurt." He says in a low tone.
"I know you don't want me to get hurt. I understand that, but I'm 15 almost 16. You guys need to start trusting me to make good decisions." I whine.
"It's not that we don't trust you Ella, it's that we don't trust other people around you!" He says as I walk up to the food stand.
"One cotton candy please." I tell the man behind the stand.
He makes my cotton candy and I hand him my money, Austin just standing beside me awkwardly, not wanting people to hear the conversation we were just having. I walk away, Austin trailing behind me and find a bench when no people are near.
"Ella, I know that you are mad at the three of us boys but you have to know how sorry I am." He says sincerely.
"I don't know if I can forgive you guys. It hurt that you guys didn't trust me. That's a big step of becoming older, for all of us. We all need to have trust in each other. And I get it you all want to protect me but I still don't need protecting. You three are the ones who always hurt me the worst when we were younger." I tell him. "Crabs, sand, water, you name it. You guys did every mean prank you could think of to me. Maybe now that's why you think I need protection."
"Ella, you don't know how sorry I am." His eyes say it all. He is really sorry, but I'm still mad at them for what they did, even if they did save me, but I could have gotten out of that situation somehow.
After I sit there for awhile not answering, he does it. He leans in and kisses me. It's not forced like the other night. And it's like it says it is in all of the books and movies. Sparks! The only word that could describe it.
"No, Austin." I say pulling back.
(A/N: OMG! WHAT? Austin and Ella kissed?!?!? Sparks? She felt sparks! Oh my goodness gracious! This is just getting good. But why did she pull back if she thinks it was a good kiss? I hope they can all figure everything out. I really don't want their summer to be ruined. Anyways I hope you liked the chapter. I think it was one of the worst. It was kinda repetitive and didn't exactly make sense and I'm sorry for that. Make sure you vote, comment, and tell all of your friends to read and follow me!! It would mean a lot to me. Until next time guys!
TTYL!!!!
