Chapter 4 -A
Ella’s POV
I wake up at 6:30 feeling fully energized and ready for the day. I walk downstairs and pour myself a bowl of frosted flakes. I sit on a bar stool at the countertop, reading a book I had brought for the summer called Divergent. I had seen the movie and really wanted to read the book.
After finishing my breakfast and 4 chapters of Divergent, I get up, go to my room, get my turquoise bikini on, and go to the pool. I lay my towel down on the patio and lay on my stomach to tan.
“How’re you doing Ella?” My brother Chace said walking out through the sliding screen door of our house.
“I doing just dandy. How are you doing my dear brother Chace?” I ask him.
“Well the sun is shining, the water looks great. The other guy and I are probably going to go surfing today do you wanna join us?” he replies.
“Well it would be fun to learn how to. We do come here every year I should learn.” I tell him. “And it’s on my list.” I say whispering the last part.
“I didn’t quite catch the last part. What did you say?”
“Oh nothing. But I will join you guys.” I laugh and walk away.
I go up to Austin’s room and knock on the door.
"Austin? Are you in there?" I yell at him.
"Ya. Just give me a minute Ella." He yells back.
"I can wait. Don't worry." I say and laugh a little.
"Ya whatever." He says a bit rudely.
"Who's that?" A girl asks from inside of the room.
"Oh no one important. Just keep it down. She can't know you're here." Austin says to the mystery girl.
I can feel tears pricking in the corner of my eyes. I'm just no one important to him.
"Oh Austin can't you come back to bed?" She asks him. "We can have more fun."
"Stacey you're awesome but no one can know you're here."
At that point I run. I run down the stairs and out the front door of the house. I run down the street to the beach and go hide in my secret spot in a rock cave. I sit there and just let it out.
I don't know why it hurt so much. Austin telling that girl Stacey that I was no one important. But the name Stacey it sounds so familier.
Could I be getting feelings for my best friend? That's crazy we've known each other forever. Neither of us can start gaining feelings. If we did it would be awkward. We would still have to see each other almost every day forever.
"Ella are you out here?" Austin's older brother Hunter calls out.
"Ya." I say trying not to let him know I was just crying.
"Are you ok?" He asks walking towards me.
"Ya." I try lying to him.
"Ella I've known you since we were babies. I know when you're lying to me." He tells me sitting down next to me. "Now, are you going to tell me what's wrong?"
"It's stupid. Can you just hold me?" I ask him.
"Ya I can do that." He tells me. "And if you want to talk I'm here."
"I know. Thank you Hunter."
We sit there for 10 minutes Hunter just holding me.
"Um Ella. Are you going to come surfing with the guys and I?" Hunter asks me breaking the silence.
"Uh ya I will." I tell him and he stands up.
"Then let's go back to the house and get ready." He says lending me a hand so I can get up. "Are you going to tell me what was wrong now?"
"Nope. Maybe at the end of summer." I tell him.
"Ok deal. Now go get ready to go surfing." He says walking inside the house.
When Hunter leaves Austin approaches me.
"Where did you go Ella? I walked out of my room and saw you running out the front door and my brother walking after you." Austin asks concern in his voice.
"Why do you care? I'm no one important to you." I say right t his face.
"You heard that?" He asks softly. "How much did you hear?"
"Enough to know that Stacey is just awesome and I'm nobody important." I say right to his face.
"Ella I..."
"You don't even have an excuse. Now excuse me I'm going to go get ready to go surfing." I say and walk away.
I go into my room and put on a blue bathing suit that I have, and grab a big yellow towel. I put on a pair of black short-shorts over my bottoms and a black tank-top over my top. I walk out of my room and go to Hunter's and knock on his door.
"Come in." He says. "Oh Ella. Are you ready to go?"
"Yep. You do know that I don't know how to surf right?" I ask him.
"Ya, I know Ella. We've been coming to this house for a long time and you have never once came surfing with the guys and I. You were always tanning on the beach." He tells me.
"I guess you're right." I say to him.
"I usually am." He says and we both laugh. "Now let's go surfing!"
We are out in the water by ourselves for about 45 minutes before my brother came out with his surfboard.
"Catchin' some good waves?" Chace asks Hunter and I.
"Ya but your sister is missing them all." He tells my brother.
"Hey! You know this is my first time." I say and we all laugh.
"Ok. Let's try this with you again." Hunter says to me.
My brother goes surfing and Hunter tries helping me to just stay steady on the board and holds onto my hips. Me being the clutz that I am fall because of the board moving out from under my feet. Thank goodness that Hunter was holding me because I fell right into his arms just as Austin was coming down the road to surf.
(A/N: Chapter 4 is up! What do ya think? Could there be a possible love triangle? I don't know. Ahahaha you'll have to wait and find out. I hope you guys like it. Who should play Stacey?? She could come up again... Remember to leave comments if you want.
