Chapter 8

Ella's POV

I rush down the stairs from my room to see what the loud bang was and see my mom lying on the floor in the kitchen.

"Mom!" I yell and soon Chace is by my side.

"Is she alright?" He says to me.

"I don't know. Dad!" I scream.

"What is it honey?" He asks rushing into the kitchen. "Chace go call an ambulance!"

"Ella what happened?" My dad questions me.

"I don't know. I was in my room reading when I heard a bang. I came down to see what it was and mom was on the ground." I tell him.

"I called an ambulance." Chace says as he walks into the kitchen.

"Oh my dear lord! What happened?" Samantha asks walking into the kitchen to see all of the commotion.

"We don't know. We were all going about our day and Cheryl is just lying on the ground. I think she may have fainted and hit her head." My father says as calmly as possible.

We sit there supporting my mom until the sirens are soon able to be heard. The paramedics are soon in the house carrying my mom out on a stretcher. I sit down on the couch in the living room as I watch the ambulance drive quickly out of my sight.

"I need to go see mom." I say to Chace.

"No. Dad and I are going to the hospital. You will stay here with Hunter, Austin, and Samantha." Chace demands.

"But I need to be there when she wakes up!" I whine a little.

"No Ella! I will text you with updates. I want you to still go on your date with Hunter tonight." He tells me.

"Fine! But I'm not t happy about it. Make sure when she wakes up you tell her I love her."

"I will do that Ella. See you later." He says and rushes upstairs, back down, then out the door.

I sit on the couch again and watch as my dad and brother drive down the street the same way as the ambulance carrying my mom did.

When they're out of sight Hunter comes down the stairs.

"Are you alright Ella?" He asks me in a soft tone.

"Ya I guess so." I tell him. "Can you hold me please?" I ask for the second time today.

"Ya, I can do that." He says and I make room for him on the couch. "Your mom is going to be fine."

"I hope so." I tell him. "Um, Chace wants us to still go on our date tonight. Do you want to, because I could kinda use the distraction."

"Sure but that means that you'll have to get up and get ready."

"Ok we'll leave in 45 minutes." I tell him and get up.

I go to my room, grab my makeup, and head to the bathroom. I apply enough makeup to make me look fancy but not so much that I have 50 pounds of it on. I curl my hair into simple curls, hairspray it, and go back to my room. I put my makeup in the makeup drawer, and go to my closet to get my dress. I put on my dress and my silver heels and walk downstairs.

"Oh my Ella. You look beautiful." Hunter says to me when I'm on the last step.

"Thanks." I say with a small smile. "Thank goodness this is a fancy restaurant or I'd be way overdressed." I say and we both laugh.

I know my smile disappears because I'm thinking of my mom in the hospital.

"Are you ok?" Hunter asks and I nod. "We don't have to go if you don't want to."

"No I want to I'm just worried about my mom."

"I understand." He says and comes and gives me a hug. "She'll be alright."

"Ok. Let's go then I guess." I say and we walk out the door and to Hunter's car.

"Have I told you that you look lovely Ella?" He tell me and I can feel my cheeks heating up.

"Yes. But not in those words" I say to him.

"I'm glad you agreed to dinner with me."

"Me too." I tell him.

"What made you agree? I kinda thought that you liked my brother." He says to me.

"Well your brother has a tendency of messing things up sometimes, as I'm guessing you know." I explain.

"Ya like that time at the beach."

*Flashback*

"Guys. Do you wanna build a sandcastle with me?" Six-year-old Ella asks the boys.

"Sure and it can be really big and tall and cool!" Exclaims eight-year-old Hunter.

"I'll go get the stuff to build it." Says nine-year-old Chace as he runs toward the parents.

"Why do you want us to help you build a castle Ella?" Asks seven-year-old Chace.

"Because I can't do it on my own and it would be fun for us to spend the day doing this." Ella says getting mad at Austin for not agreeing to the idea the other boys already had. "Why don't you want to play with us Austin?"

"I just don't want to!" He yells and walks away.

"I got the shovels, buckets- Ella what's wrong?" Chace asks when he gets back.

"Nothing. Now can we build the sandcastle?" Ella replies.

"Sure." Hunter speaks up.

The kids spend all day building the perfect sandcastle. It has moats, and towers, and even little leaves as flags. Just as they are finishing the castle Austin comes over. No one speaks a word to each other. Then Austin jumps in the air landing hard on the castle, ruining all the hard works the other kids had just created.

"Austin!" Ella yells and runs away to the parents.

"What was that for?" Chace asks.

"I didn't want to build the castle; but I wanted to destroy it." He says as he gets called to the parents.

*End of flashback*

"And we are here." Hunter says putting his car in park.

"Yay! Now we can have some delicious food and some nice talk. I say and we get out of the car.

We walk into the restaurant and see that it's not that crowded even though it is 6:30.

"Table for two please." Hunter says to man at the front.

"Right this way." He says back to us. "Here are your seats and menus. The waiter will be over here soon."

"Thank you." I say and he walks away. "Is he new in town?"

"I don't know but I've never seen him before." Hunter says to me.

"Hello, welcome to Toni’s. I'll be your waiter tonight. My name is Jordan. What can I get you to drink?" He says and looks up. "Oh hello Ella."

(A/N: Jordan has a job?!? Never saw that one coming. Actually I did. I am after all the author. Ahahah! Anyways what do you think so far? This chapter took me like a week to write/type whatever you want to call it. Just kept having writer's block whenever I write/type date scenes. Maybe it's because I've never been on a proper date before... But that my issue and it doesn't bother me. But I hoped you enjoyed chapter 8. Jordan’s back and I think he may have something up his sleeve. I mean he does still want to get Ella. Thank you guys for voting and leaving comments. It's nice to know that people are actually reading my book. But until next week!

TTYL!!!!
