Strong people
aren't always strong--
they may look tough
but deep inside,
they are just
as weak and fragile
as you.
Look closely and you'll find
a thick skin, a hard shell--
the invisible, emotional walls
they've built around them--
with every adversity blocking their way,
with every insult hurled at them.
Day in, day out
a little mound turns
into a mountain so impregnable,
yet little did others know,
these insurmountable walls
often have a small hole
they use to peek at you
from inside,
continually observing
perpetually waiting
and always hoping
that somebody
will notice and try
to reach out for them.
