At times,
I envy those who shine
as bright as the Sun,
bringing warmth
into other people's lives.
I also envy those
who continuously change
like the brilliant Moon,
always illuminating
the night sky.
I envy them because
I am routine and
I always remain the same.
Then I remember
I stay routinely the same
like the Northern Star,
despite the rising
and the setting of the Sun,
despite the changing
phases of the Moon,
I stay routinely the same
and fixed at the same spot
as a guide
to little lost souls
in search of
their North.
