Firm have you stood alone,
with your two feet
on the ground--
Impacts you have braced,
Storms you have braved.
Your strength, amazing.
Your sturdiness, surprising.
But you were never
invincible.From your front:
Little blows to your health.
From your back:
Little blows to your faith.
From your right:
Little blows to your judgement.
From your left:
Little blows to your sanity.
From within:
Little blows to your pride.Little blows they were,
but they chipped in
at your strength,
rotting away
your conscience.
When you realise it,
your feet begin
to give away--
Slowly you sink,
deep and deeper
you fall,
until you hit
rock-bottom.
At which point
you ask yourself:
"Can I fall any further?"Only you know the answer:
Unless you're strong enough,
you may let yourself
fall much further,
even deeper.
To where you can never
rise again--
To that point of no return.HBY,
