A/N- Three prompts- 1)Ghost 2) Broken Glass 3) Monster under the bed, all three prompts merged to form this piece

It was a similar dark night
On the road where now I stand
Trees on the left, trees on the right
And a Walkman gripped in my hands

I walked and walked with eyes closed,
Body dancing to the songs,
Only if I had a chance-
I would correct all my wrongs

Earphones pulled and Walkman dropped
When the racing car hit me,
I went flying when time stopped
Red and black was all I could see

Now I roam these silent roads,
As a ghost- I often moan
Now I wait for another car,
Why should I suffer alone!?

***

Me and my love Melissa
Seated in a red Chevy,
On a country long roadtrip
With hopes of our marriage heavy

My lips smiled back at her smile,
My fingers swam in her hair,
I was happy and amazed
That I had found a love so rare

But then came a sudden sound
And figure of a ghost did rise,
Tires punctured and brakes failed
And broken glass flew in my eyes

The ghost laughed and we crashed,
We were  under and car above,
I escaped that tragedy
But I couldn't save my love

From that day forward, everynight
She whispers from under the bed,
Millions and millions of times-
"I am Melissa" she said

We talked a lot of sorrow
We talked until the sun rose
But one day in a distinct tone,
She gave me a reality dose

"Shut up! You silly human,
With boredom my brain you roast,
I tried to kill you! I lied!
I'm Melissa and I'm the ghost!"
