The Seer

Ahiravana: Spouting water at divine temple gates

sprouting the very first weapons of hate

gracing the ears of Vishnu and Shiva

being the mount of Varuna and Ganga.

Its tusks could crush lions, the mouth eat them whole

jaws - made of pearl - could tear apart a troll

and you seven fishermen were suffice?

This is not a hunt, but a sacrifice!

The Makara came here by will not chance

you may have missed something at the first glance

Ilgiva: O' look who is come at this perfect time

the purple robed seer with powers sublime

Ahiravana: Welcome lord decoder of time and space

but why do I see a frown on your face?

The Seer: "Danger! grave danger! my visions tell me

the crown on your head is in jeopardy!

I've seen these white walls wet with shades of red

I've seen someone else on this throne instead

the face was blurry so I could not see

it could be anyone, even a bee

or an ox of an abusive farmer

even a lean snake tired of its charmer

could be someone who is close to your heart

or it could be some king oceans apart.

Trust no one! not your blood, even your wife

your reign is in danger, I swear on my life!"

The Makara shivered, out came a roar

guards arranged around with intentions gore.

Its belly ripped apart, emerged a claw

and everyone stood in daze and in awe.
