See you soon, moon

I sent my eagle to the moon

I hope he returns sometime soon

With a reply, to my love missive

Whether accepting or dismissive,

To get me out of this cocoon

That is spewed by my heart in love

For the splendid moon up above

In whose presence I've spent my nights

The sun during day my love ignites

My eagle should be back by now

I wonder what has caused delay?

Has my eagle wandered astray,

Have the clouds engulfed my eagle

Or is it that stupid seagull!

Maybe the search is still underway

Spellbound by the waterfall blue?

Mesmerised by the towering yew,

Chance he's stuck in a dust devil

Delaying my chance to revel,

Perhaps, the eagle loved the moon too!
