Ella's P.O.V
"Okay babe, I have some bad news" Jack sighs as he walks in, coming out of a phone conversation with one of their buisness partners. Dinner was mentally draining enough, let's just hope for the best now. "The guys and our partner decided to have our meeting here.. in 30 minutes" He said. "Okay? Should I leave or?" I glance at him, confused. "No, no. We'll be in the living room for the most part. But it'd be better if you just didn't come out here" He tried to explain it without seeming rude.
"Baby I get it" I chuckle and get up. "I'll just watch Netflix for awhile" I get up. "You're the best fiance in the whole world, you know that?" He leans in and kisses me. "I know" I flip my hair over my shoulder and he smiles, shaking his head. I change into a matching set of silky shorts and tank top because I'm a badass bitch. I run down stairs before anyone can show up to make a big cup of hot chocolate.
Sometimes I can't help but think about what would happen if somehow Jack got exposed and everyone knew about this stuff. The things behind closed doors. I start to walk out of the kitchen when I realize everyone had aready arrived and were sitting in our living room. Oops. Luckily only one guy s- well shit he looks fimiliar. And it clicks. It's the guy from the club, David. Well, a buisness owner he definitley is. We locked eyes for a moment as I panicked. His eyes scanned my body before I skidded up the stairs.
The meeting went on for about two hours and I, being curious, decided to use the closet stairs to listen in. I creeped down slowly and pressed my ear to the door. "You don't live here alone, do you?" I heard David ask. "Oh, no my fiance lives here too" Jack responded. I could tell he was a bit unsure from his voice. "What's her name?" He asks in an oblivious tone. "Um, Ella. I don't see why that's relevant to the deal" Jack responded, even more concered. "I like to get to know my partners" David brushed it off.
Right then. Right then I should've known something was off but I figured he just didn't belive the coincidence. I wouldn't. I found my way back to Jack and I's room and continued my movie, ignoring the weird feelings in my stomach. Soon, Jack came up looking tired. "How'd it go babe?" I sat up a bit. "Good, good. All the guys were super chill, except for this David guy." He fell on the bed and started unbottoning his shirt. "Whatcha mean?" I looked over.
"He just had a bad vibe, I mean- he kept asking uncomfortable questions like what your name was or how many entrances this house had.." He seemed distracted and gave up mid-way down his stomach. I climbed over and continued taking his shirt off. "We sealed the deal but- I don't know he weirds me out. Sam and Nate thought it was a good idea though so it's done" He finished and then looked up at me. "I love you princess. Always" He sat up and slid the shirt off. "I love you too" I smiled a little. " I think we should see my mom tomorrow" I sighed. "I'll email her first thing" He nodded.
Jack pulled me down under the covers, keeping me close to his chest. "I can't wait to marry you" He mumbled as he kicked off his pants and fell asleep. I smiled and took a deep breath, closing my eyes. Something still felt- uneven, almost. Like one thing in the balance of the world was just off and I had no clue what. That's when I felt a text pop up on my screen. I rolled over a bit, grabbing my phone.
Anon #: sleep tight gorgeous, see you soon
My stomach tightened and I felt my heart beat a bit faster.
Me: who is this
Anon #: you'll see soon. everything will fall in place for us.
Me: leave me alone
Anon #: be careful what you say princess. now get some sleep xx
Chills srept up my spine and I scooted the closest possible to Jack, feeling his arms tighten around me. It could just be the boys pulling some prank. They wouldn't, they don't have time to be childish right now. It could be David.. but there's no way he'd have my number, I never gave it to him. After awhile my mind got tired of guessing and fell asleep.
