Coming clean...but not really... -brittany.

"Slow down, Brookie, you're going to choke." I rolled my eyes at Hudson and placed my plate down. Hudson made me dinner. He asked if I was hungry and according to him, he didn't feel like driving again. So, he made me fettuccine alfredo.

Fancy name if you ask me, I would've just called it pasta. Anyway, it was great and now I just finished my second plate. "Wow, Hudson," I started. "I didn't know you could cook."

We were both seated on his couch. The television was on, playing some random show we weren't paying attention to. The lights were off and the sunset from outside lighted the room just fine.

Hudson shrugged. "My little Brookie, there's a lot you don't know about me." He leaned back in the couch.

"I told you to stop calling me Brookie, but I guess I'll let it slide because you made me food." I told him. I heard him laugh.

"So," Hudson sighed. "This conversation was bound to come up sooner or later." He turned to me on the couch and raised an eyebrow. "How did we meet?"

What? My eyebrows drew together in confusion. What kind of question was that? Hudson saw the confusion on my face. "For the interview tomorrow."

Oh shit. I forgot about that. I guess it won't be that bad, because I'll have Hudson there with me...

That sounded pretty weird in my head. I guess I won't be as jittery because someone will be there to do most of the talking. "Right, I forgot we had to do that." I mumbled.

"We need a story to sell to the press." Hudson told me. Right, right.... "Any ideas?" He asked me.

My mind wondered. My fangirl started to come out. I wasn't going to say anything crazy like we were chosen to represent our district in the annual Hunger Games.

No.

I smiled to myself. "We should say that we met at the coffee shop..or even better, a bookstore."

Hudson winced. "What the hell? How is that better?"

"Listen, do you know the journey that can come out of a boy and a girl who reached for the same book at the same time and their gaze just locks and right then and there, you know they were going to be together." I rambled.

Hudson shook his head. "No, no, no. Don't bring any of your fictional romance books to life, okay." I raised my eyebrows at him. "Why can't we just say that I knew who you are, thought you were cute, took you out to dinner, and now we're dating."

Unbelievable. You've have got to be kidding me. "Ugh, you're like a damn robot, don't you have any feelings?" Hudson shrugged. "You know absolutely nothing about the human heart...When you 'fall for someone', there has to be a connection." I explained to Hudson.

Absolutely. You don't date someone just so you can date them. You date them because of whatever is between you. The connection you share is stronger and more intimate than one with anyone else.

Hudson groaned and pulled his head back. "Okay, whatever." He shook his head, dismissing the conversation. "Anyway, i'll pick you up from school and then we'll head over to TDS. Okay?"

I nodded my head. "As for the engagement, my assistant will handle everything from there."

I raised my eyebrows. "I didn't know a wedding was a business arrangement."

"In this case, it is." Hudson replied flatly. He was right. This is all just one big business deal.

"Well, it's almost eleven," I sighed. "When are you deciding to take me home?" I asked. Hudson broke his gaze away from the TV and turned to me with raised eyebrows.
