LisaSorry, I can't today. I'll make it up to you tomorrow I promise! I read Jennie's text for the third time.
I still haven't replied to her because I'm still not used to her refusing any of my invitations to hang out; I was used to hogging all of her attention because she doesn't hang out with anybody else aside from me but that was before she gained a boyfriend. She and Donny had finally gotten together after a few dates and they have been dating for almost three months now.
These days, it's like all my friend does is hang out with her boyfriend all the time and even when we were together, all she could ever talk about is him; I get it that she's in love but I got other things to talk about too.
I felt my phone vibrate and saw another text from my friend when I opened it. "Are you mad? :(" It says.
"Maybe." I replied.
I'm not really mad at her, I just feel so lonely now that all her attention was focused on her boyfriend. I know that I should be happy for her as her bestfriend but I can't help but feel a little bit jealous because I'm lacking some of her attention.
"I promise I'll hang out with you tomorrow all day. Just the two of us okay? Got to go, my date is already here."
I groaned.
It sucks! Being bumped into second place sucks!
I browsed my inbox and decided to open an unread text from one of the guys who were constantly pestering me to hang out. "Want to hang out later?" The text read. It came from Steve over an hour ago.
"Sure. Meet me at the new dessert shop near McDonalds at 11. Don't be late!" I replied. I have to accept that I can't hang out with Jennie all the time now so I should probably start hanging out with other people, right?
Not even a minute passed by and I already got a reply. "It's a date!" It said.Sure Steve.
After an hour had passed, I found myself entering the place that we had agreed to meet upon. I looked around and noticed that the place looks rather new and lavish.
