Song of the chapter: Lolita by LANA DEL REY
"I like your glasses Mr. Keene. You look just like Clarke Kent." Beverly says to the Pharmacist. His lips quirk upwards into a creepy smile that send shivers down Holly's spine. She ignored the feeling and looked to the counter while Beverly talked with the man. Her fingers, decked out in rings tapped on the counter, nervously yet silently.
Her eyes spotted a small jar containing lollipops. An idea popped into her head and she reached for the candy. She unwrapped a lollipop and placed it in her mouth, eyeing Mr. Keene who was watching her.
"Holly you try them." Beverly said to the brunette. Holly grabbed them, placing them on her face.
"Are these for reading?" Holly asks quickly. Mr. Keene nods.
"I love reading. Can you guess my favorite book?" She questions, a smile on her face mirroring the one she sees her mother make often at the men she has over. Mr. Keene thinks for a moment.
"The Running Man?" Mr. Keene takes a wild guess. Holly's smile grows as she slowly shakes her head.
"Lolita." She smiles at the disgusting man who's face is redder and his smile wider. She decides the man is flustered enough now and takes the glasses off.
"Here." She says as she pushes her hand with the glasses forward, knocking a box onto the floor into the process. With a sigh, she apologizes.
"I'm so sorry. I'm very clumsy." She says as the man bends down to put the various spilled contents back in the box.
Holly looks to Beverly with wide eyes, Beverly making a face of disgust at the man. Holly takes her finger, pointing down her throat and pretending to gag. Beverly's shoulders shake as she laughs at the girl in the form of an exhale. Both girls turn around to signal off the boys.
Holly's eyes meet those of Eddie's. His face appears disheartened as he stares back at her. Her brows twitch in confusion as she can't figure out the feeling in her gut. The best way to describe it would be a lawnmower running over her record collection. Eddie has a hard time looking away and is pushed by Bill into the shelf, knocking a few pill bottles onto the ground.
Holly smiles and looks to the ground to hide it. She regains her composure, looking back to Beverly who has a sly smile, knowing something that Holly herself didn't.

"Here." Holly handed a pack of cigarettes from the shelf out of view of Mr. Keene, to Beverly who smiled at the girl who took one for herself as well. The two pushed the doors open, walking out in conversation about which movies to sneak into soon. Bill rounded the corner ahead and when the girls met with him, Holly smiled at Beverly before walking past Bill.
