I was done with my fourth shot when someone placed a hand on my arm. Millie jerked back and was surprised by her looks. Courtney just had her head down on the table. I looked behind and can't fight the smile forming in my mouth.

"Hey." He said, his eyes sparkling with the pink, blue, and purple neon lights. His hands were still on my arm which sent shivers and tingles on my body. I was surprised with myself that I was still delighted to see him even if I saw him signing those girl's breast. Okay, now that I remember it again, ew. Ew. The tug on my lips left.

That's so disrespectful for someone who is a woman to act that way. I won't do that just for a useless autograph.

"Hi, Jake." I smirked at him. He looked good with a white shirt and a black leather jacket. "Congratulations on your game." I said, shouting a little over the loud music.

He smiled, reaching his eyes. Just a genuine smile. I like it. It suits him for real. "I've been waiting for you to say that. Where were you after the game? I've been looking for you. But Courtney said you left. You were my good luck charm. So, I suppose I should be the one thanking you..." Millie rolled her eyes at me, after overhearing Jake's words.

"I left because I saw you were busy signing autographs and I have a load of crap to do." Of course I left the part that how he held that pretty girl's breast while he signed it. Duh.

"You were coooozy.. with the blonde bimboooo.. that's why she left. You're fucked Jake. Leave my friend alone...find some other chick..to fool around.." Courtney's words were blumt and slang as she said it, pointing at Jake. I smiled sheepishly at him before turning to Courtney.

"You were drunk, Court." I said to her, ignoring Jake's constant shaking of his head. Thank God, the drinks hadn't hit me yet. Millie, on my other side remained quiet as Courtney now gushed about Oliver. Her voice was slow though. You can easily recognize she was really drunk.

"You know what, Court?" She glanced up at me. "You're really trying to get yourself super drunk so you could sleep by the pool." I chuckled when she groaned in response.

"No, you mean beside her puke, not her pool." Millie added, but her face on grimace. Courtney shrugged and waved her hands on us.

"Ew! Shut up, please! Okay, I'll just go home. You two could stay here. I'll tell the driver to wait for you. I'll give him you're numbers. I-I just don't want to sleep beside my puke."

"I'm coming with you, obviously I don't want to be the third wheel-" Millie eyed me, then Jake. Then, Jake to my frowning face as she continued. "-when you leave. Plus, I need to talk to Kate." She smiled, reached for her purse and walked beside Courtney who's ready to puke her guts out any minutes from now.

"I can give her a ride." Jake offered.

"Are you sure?" I asked one more time, turning to my friends. Courtney just made a thumbs up, while Millie brushed her shoulder against mine as she whispered:

I need to record this shit.

"I heard you, bitch!" Courtney yelled, but her head slung on Millie's shoulder. Seconds later, the young driver showed up and helped Courtney and Millie out of the club. I watched them walked away, when the young driver looked back and winked at me. I narrowed my eyes in confusion.

"Did he just wink at you?" Jake asked, a bottle of drink in his hand. I shrugged.

"You better not get drunk. You're driver." I reminded him as I crossed my arms over my chest.

"Uhm..no. Actually, I have my own driver too. Come on, let's dance." He said casually, as he led me to the dancefloor where sweaty bodies were moving. Seriously, how do they get to dance when it's so crowded like this. It doesn't make any sense to me.

"I really am sorry 'bout that. I just got used to it. Been doin' that ever since I played as captain in the football." Wow. Shocking. He was apologizing because he thought I got hurt when I saw him doing that-signing autographs on boobs-right after the game. Hell, he's right. I was hurt. I was offended and also a little disappointed. We were dating. Or maybe that's just what I thought, because he seriously was a major flirt, so I shouldn't rely on him sticking with me, and I don't have any guarantee that he'd change obviously since because we're dating. He was the lumberjack and I am afraid that once he was suppose to get rid of me, he would cut me into pieces.

These were the same feelings I felt with Brandon. But ten time worse and I hate it. I shouldn't feel this towards my friend. Friend sounds like an overstatement, I'd rather we be acquaintances. However, I was so over those silly feelings...I should learn 'how to' and 'when to' have fun. Like right now. I should learn to do what these kids do. No wonder why I don't ever had a boyfriend. Boys, plus me, just don't mix together. I make them go away...or let's just say...I never attract them at all. "It's okay." I answered as I took a sip of this bitter beer.

We were at the rooftop of this club. Surprisingly, it's much calmer and quiet here, still there's a few people scattered around just talking with their company. I like it much better here. If only I'd known they had this kind of space here earlier, then I would have dragged Mil and Courtney here.

I looked around and I spotted someone I never want to see tonight. Brandon. I leaned my elbows on the concrete railings, my eyes never left his face. He was still with the girl he was dancing with earlier. I wonder if she found his new girl to be infatuated with. I didn't noticed Jake leaning on my side, and wrapping his arms around my shoulders. I shivered instantly.

I looked at him and he was watching Brandon too.

"You were distracted." He said, his eyes narrowed at Brandon. I just shrugged. "I know you like him. You just don't admit it to him...or to yourself either." The words hit me like a truck. He knew. He knew I had feelings for Brandon. But, why was he still willing to date me? Wasn't it weird to date someone who likes your bestfriend better than you?

"He's changed." I said, and he nodded. He seemed to pick up on what I said instantly and I was glad because I don't want to explain him the details of what that simple statement means.

"Come on, let's go there." He tugged on my hand and he led me to where Brandon and the brunette was lounging. There are christmas lights everywhere, giving the place a romantic ambience instead of the one they had below. The open air send chills on my skin. Shit. I should've brought my jacket with me. "Just act like you love me, huh." He winked and I was amazed how he just casually told me to act like I love him.

Like love's an ordinary word that I can express to him easily. I did nod anyway. I don't know what tricks he had up his sleeve and it scares the shit out of me. What could he do? We were metres away from Brandon and my heart won't stop beating erratically. I paused on my place when Brandon's eyes met mine. I have to act calm. I gave him a timid smile but he didn't return it. Instead, he put his arm around the girl's shoulder. I seriously want to puke.

"Hey! Mind if we join you?" Jake asked. Brandon gave us a confusing look as the girl nods in excitement.
