After our short meeting, we climbed out the limousine earning a weird stare from Courtney's driver. Once we were out of his earshot, I move beside Courtney.

"Court, your driver is weird." I said, whispering on her ear.

"What did he do?" She frowned and scanned my face.

"Oh, nothing. He just keeps on winking at me whenever we see each other." I remember the night at the club when Courtney was wasted and her driver helped her. He winked at me, and it was creepy.

"Oh, don't you worry, I'll tell him to stop it. I'm gonna fire him anyway." She chuckled and we headed to Sheila's house.

Her house is just a normal house like mine but it's a bit bigger. Now that I can hear the loud music my heart thumped at a fast rate I felt numb.

"There's Jake. He looks hot!" Kate squealed. I saw Jake leaning on the railings of the front porch, looking gloriously handsome in his plain-white shirt and brown-leather jacket. His hair was messy, and his bangs were swept to one side, completing his bad boy look. He gave me a sweet smile.

"He's so into you, duh..." Millie said in a soft but mocking tone.

"Shut up." I glared at her.

"Jake!" Courtney called him, then he nodded at her. "Come on, girls." She nodded towards Millie and Kate, meaning I will be stuck the whole night with Jake.

"Amy, you look really pretty." He stepped in front of me and I leaned on him, hugging him, because I really missed him. Oh God, he smells good.

"Where have you been? You weren't at school yesterday." I told him as I pulled away.

"Oh, I-I was at home. Lazy tuesday."

"Well, I hope you are not too lazy to spend the night with me."

"Of course not. You're really pretty." He tucked a piece of hair that got out of my ponytail. I realized that he already complimented me seconds ago.

"You already said that." I smiled at him.

"I did?" He asked, with a sheepish smile and he held my hand in his as we made our way inside the house. I nod in reply and I notice Kate and the girls head to the kitchen.

"I need a drink." I said, as we passed horny, drunken teenagers on the floor. I frowned and groaned in frustration. With my hands still on Jake's, we spotted the girls on the counter having drinks with Brandon and-who is she?

Oh, yes. Nicole. The new girl.

Jake tightened his hands on mine. "He's changed really." He murmured which earned a short nod from me. "I really can't understand him sometimes. You know what? Let's pretend again. Alright." I nodded in answer, and I think I know what he's planning again.

"Amy!" Kate squealed when she saw us, and her eyes lingered on our entwined hands with delight. All eyes were on us now so we went to the counter and they offered us drinks. I took the hard one. Hoping that Jake would come save me if I do anything dumb.

"You're really gonna drink that?" He asked me. I nod and emptied the contents in the shot glass.

"Fuck!" I hissed after the liquid burned my throat.

"Yeah!" Courtney yelled, then laugh after taking shots.

"God, I'm not drinking." Millie declared, she just watch us take our drinks.

"So..Nicole, you're from East River High, right?" Nicole nodded and grinned which was really creepy. She is pretty, she kinda looked like Barbie.

"Nicole, this is Amy, my friend." Friend. Just a friend. He never mentioned that we're bestfriends for God's sake and it hurts me. I bit the skin inside my cheek to prevent myself from snapping at him.
