Brandon James' POV

I thought we were friends. Not anymore. Friends don't stab on each other's backs. Friends don't hit on their bros' girls. Jake was a liar. A fucking-egoistic liar. He said he won't do the bet. But he still did. This group, whom I call friends, are not real friends. They don't even know how to spell “friends,” let alone treat one.

“Are you pissed?” Jake asked. His grin was never out of his face.

“Is it not obvious? You stole and played with my girl. You made me a jerk in front of her by sending Mia. She thought I was flirting with her.” I pointed my finger at his chest. “You never played fair, Jake. You never.”

“Let's just say, I'm much more skilled and I got more brains than you ever had. Oh, and we're going on a date. A real one.” He laughed. A maniac laugh. I can't control myself anymore. Jake brings out the monster in me. I punched his face. And not once. Never twice. A few times, until the other jocks came rushing and pulling me on top of him. I really want to keep making his face bleed until I can't recognize him anymore. But he was still on the ground laughing, then he spat something red.

“What the fuck, man?” Ashton shouted at me as he held my arms.

“That liar deserved it.” I answered. Then I saw Courtney walking to me. The blonde followed behind her. Her eyes met mine, and in a fraction of a second, I saw she was mortified. She hates me now, even if what I did was really for her.

“Brandon, why?” Courtney shouted at me. Her face furious. But I didn't care, I just stared at Amelia's face when she saw Jake. Her face was etched with worry. She held his arms, as she guided him up. He flashed me a “What now” smirk, and Amy…she looked at me disgustingly. And I hate it. I hate the way she left with him. The way she looked at me like it's all my fault when she didn't know the truth. The truth that I was the one who truly cared for her. That I was the one who loved her.

Who truly loves her.
