Jake offered to take me to school today, after the weird conversation I had with my parents, I ran and slid inside his silver car that was already parked outside my house.
"Hey!" He greeted me, his eyes are really beautiful I melt each time he looked at me. Shit. He noticed me staring for too long.
"Hi! Thanks for giving me a ride." I said and he just nod and we started to drive away.
"Don't forget about tomorrow." He added without sparing me a glance.
"What about?"
I'm glad he did glance at me now. He was expecting something I should know, I knew what he was talking about. I don't want to go, really. Brandon and Alicia will be there and I have to pretend with Jake again-which felt good by the way. And also, I don't want to see them make-out in front of me, that would be awkward-yeah, because my parents and his, knew we were dating.
"You knew, Amy." He murmured leaning on my side, I can smell his breath that really smells like marshmallow. I resisted to kiss him. Great. Just great. When did I learn to think that?
"Okay, I know." I put my hands up. "Something's bugging me and I need you to help me. I don't know what to do."
"Okay...that something..sounds important."
"I think so.." I whispered. My eyes widened in shock as he made a U-turn and went back. "Ah, you know the school's that way." He just answered with a cute smile.
"We're ditching classes." Oh, good Gods. I am ditching class with Jake. Oh, did he say classes? Why do I feel so happy instead of being regretful, also I might not catch up with my chemistry class. Whatever.
"Well, where are we going?"
"Let's get some coffee first."
Jake made a stop on a cafe and we found a seat at the far corner at the end of the cafe. I felt calmed since it's just me and Jake here. Nobody pays attention to us.
"Wow. The coffee is nice. I've never been on this part of the town." He sipped on his cup of coffee while I strir on mine.
"I'm glad you like it. So...back to the part why you're going to need my help?"
"My parents know Brandon and I were dating and they haven't even yelled at me or got mad? I thought they don't want me to date. But earlier, they're so calmed while talking to me. It's as if they were not my parents." I paused then continued again after taking a sip of coffee. " I also told them that you and I are dating, they got confused. Now, Mr. Hype's-a.k.a. my dad's boss, also Brandon's dad-invited me and my parents to join them for dinner next week.
"I don't know what to do, and why Brandon's never told them that we're done dating, so he can take Alicia with him instead, to meet his parents." I finished my cup in a short gulp, not bothering about it's super hot temperature. I nearly choked when I realized my tongue's been burnt.
"Oomf!" I spat some from my mouth.
"Shit, are you alright." Concerned Jake asked.
"Okay." I held both hands up, then wipe my face with a napkin.
"Okay, so...why are you asking for my help? Don't you have some lady friends to help you with that? Why me?" He asked.
I also asked myself, why him? I could have gone to Courtney or Millie or Kate first, but Jake. I thought of him first. I shook my head, not knowing what to say.
"I don't know, Jake. It just feels like you're the only person I could go to, and my bestfriends were busy so I don't wanna bug them with my problem. And also, you're the only person who I confided myself into." I smuled at him slightly, he frowned but later on turned into a huge smile.
"You're so sweet." He whispered as he gently took my hands.
"I never thought you're going to be my friend, after all I've done to you. I'm sorry again. I swear this time I'll be honest with you. Promise." He puts his hands that held my hand in his chest at the top of his heart. His gesture is so romantic I could melt and forever be a mess on this seat, but I can't, if I still have a Brandon James in my heart.

"What do you think?" He asked.
"About what?" I was scanning the aisle, not looking at him.
"Cheetos and kitkats?" He held lots of cheetos and kitkats which made me giggle. I didn't know he's a fan of those.
"Whatever you want, Jake. Seriously, you're asking me that?" I asked, grabbing a can of sodas and putting it inside the cart.
"I just wanna know what snacks you like so we can share."
"I don't really have a favorite so I'd have whatever you like." I said and he smiled at me. Tomorrow morning, later tonight, we're going to the beach. They had a change of plans since Alicia wants to have a joyride with Brandon for hours.
It'll be a six-hour-long drive to get there. Why the beach when the lake's just here, and it's going to take thirty minutes to get there? Okay, so Alicia made that decision-which sucks. She texted she wants to skinny-dip by the shore. Whatever. I suddenly felt an arm over my shoulders.
"This felt like we're a couple and we're grocery shopping for our kids." He smiled playfully, then winks at me. I laughed at him.
"You wish!" I slapped his chest playfully.
"Yeah, I wish." He whispered.

After we went shopping, he dropped me at my house to pack. I just had a backpack with my important things inside: Perfume, toothbrush, toothpaste, deodorant, sunblock, flipflops, oversized shirts and my shorts-which is suitable for staying at the beach. I even brought a bikini Courtney bought for me when we were shopping. She said it would be helpful for the future since I own none-and she's right. Unbelievably right.
I put on a grey swaetshirt since it's cold outside. It's already 11pm and Jake haven't texted me yet. He should pick me up at 11. My phone vibrates and I grabbed it from the vanity table. It's a text from Jake.
"I'm already outside."
I smiled and grabbed my bag and left my room.
"Mom! I'm leaving!" I yelled.
She rushes out the kitchen. "Oh, honey, take care. Be safe and stay with James okay?" She said. I smiled sourly, thinking it's not James I'm going to stick with but, Jake.
"Okay, mom." I said one last time before leaving the front door.
Jake leapt out of his car the second I got out, and he opened the backdoor of his car so I can put my backpack inside. He hurriedly opened the passenger's door once again. Closing it after I got in.
"Chivalry's not dead yet?" I joked as he took a seat on the driver's seat.
He shook his head, "Not dead for you, babe." He joked back and I chuckled.
"So, where should we meet them?" I asked him.
He started the car, "At the gas station, they're filling tanks."
"Okay."
"And we got another couple going with us." He smiled at me.
"Who?" I asked him, curious who is that another couple.
"You'll see." He winked at me.
