Sam and Dean pack their things and head out for Denver. Dean pulls me aside before he leaves for a talk "listen, you can't trust Cas the way he is, alright? I don't want you unchaining him for any reason."
"Dean" I huff out from an exhale.
"I mean it" he doesn't let me go on "he may seem weak, but it can take an instant for something to snap and for him to attack. Promise me you won't let him go?" He pushes me to promise.
"I promise." I return, if he let me finish he would know that I would have agreed with him. If it was just me in the house, it'd be a different story. However, I have Paul to worry about, and I'm not going to put him in any more danger. "Just hurry up and find her okay, we haven't had anytime together in forever" I lean in to hug him, rubbing my hand down his back and to his ass, giving it a firm grab.
"Mmm" he says as I bite down on his lower lip when kissing him "don't make this harder then it already is" he mutters.
"Make what harder?" I coyly ask him, bringing my hand around from his ass to the front of his jeans.
He pulls his head back from my kiss with a grunt "I hate you" he teasingly says. He brings his head back down as I release my light grab and kisses me once more "but I love you."
"Love you, too" I mutter back when he releases my lips from his.
A while after Sam and Dean leave, I help walk Castiel to a bedroom and sit him on the bed "this is the worst" he utters as he leans down.
"I know, I'm sorry. Have you ever been sick before, like, when you were human?" I question, moving to tuck him under the blanket.
He shakes his head but admits "I believe I was hungover after I drank that liquor store."
I chuckle out to him and smile "that'll do it, just get some rest and I'll come check on you in a bit, okay?" I question, removing the chains from his wrists now.
"Yes, thank you. Dean is very lucky to have you." He admits to me.
I give him a little smirk and say "he knows" before leaving the room and locking him in. As I play with Paul for a few hours, my phone buzzes and I quickly pick it up expecting it to be Dean. The name flashes 'Charles' and everything rushes back to me.
"Charles, Hi!" I pick up, guilt ridding me as the memories of my mothers pass flash over me. With everything happening with the darkness, I've honestly forgotten about her dying "I'm so sorry I never called, how is my dad doing?" I quickly question, throwing on a big smile for my son as he pushes a truck back and forth making beeping sounds.
"He's hanging in there but when will you be back, we need to finish planning the funeral." He returns.
I sigh, a part of me wishing it was held without me having to be there "I know, I'm so sorry. Things are absolutely crazy here. When is it planned for?" I ask next.
"In 2 days, but the wake is tomorrow. Hayden, you need to be here for your father" Charles says back firmly, something behind his voice.
I call him out on it "what? What's wrong?" I ask him. I've gotten a lot better at catching on to these things since being with Dean. The way a man tries to lie is different then a women, and he's not a good a liar as Dean is.
"well, he came out of retirement Hayden. He's going back to work. Everyone is okay with it because his wife passed but he really isn't in the correct mind to be working." He tries to explain to me.
"What do you mean? I've been gone for like 3 days, how can he be working again?" I question what he said further, not really able to understand that.
