As I stand and watch what is about to unfold, I'm suddenly being dragged away from the cage "what the hell?"
"Let's go Winchester, can't be having both of Dean's puppets dying today." I hear Crowley's voice as he drags me back. I try to fight but by the time I am able to get him off of me we are out of the area with the cages and in the hallways. He snaps his fingers and the two of us are now back in his hell hole of a home. He pushes me into a chair and handcuffs me to it. Rowena sits to my right, also handcuffed but with the one that contains witches. I curse myself for not practicing on escaping cuffs. Crowley stands behind his mother and puts his arm around her neck and snarls "you betrayed me, In my kingdom."
She quivers back through struggling for air "not yours, his! Hell is his! I'm his. So hurt me, and what do you think he'll do to you?"
"Lucifer will never get out of that cell with a body enough to contain him and come after me." Crowley snarls, and I pray he's right.
Rowena gasps but manages to ask "are you willing to stake your life on that?" On Sam Winchester?!
She continues to gasp but he lets go and demands to know "how long? How long have you been working for him?"
"Not long. Lucifer came to me in a dream." She replies. He gives her a gross look and she replies "not that kind of dream."
"So, you're just gonna let the big, strong man boss you around?" He asks "whatever happened to the super-duper awesome coven? #girlpower?"
"Lucifer's no man." She replies, clearly in awe of the devil "he's perfection. Why do you think I let your droogs find me? Lucifer has a plan, and --"
"And he's the devil." I spit, unable to believe she actually can have feelings for this thing.
"You say that like it's a bad thing." She smiles at me.
Crowley replies "Oh, no. I'm a bad thing. He's a worse thing." He then explains to her "the last time Lucifer went topside, do you know what he wanted? Death for you, for me, and every human, and every demon."
"He's changed." She smirks and one shoulder shrugs.
"Oh, yes, of course. All he needed was the love of a horrible woman." He scoffs down at her "so, and you're doing all this, why? Out of the goodness of your heart?"
"Don't be daft" she spits "after Lucifer stops the Darkness, he'll ascend to his throne in heaven, and I'll be by his side, a loyal follower."
"A queen?" He gets out the word she was leaving out.
"Like it or not, you know I'm right. Lucifer fought the Darkness before, and he won." She stands up, her voice loud and hard "so, unless you've got the almighty in your back pocket, I suggest you sit down, shut up, and let him work."
Crowley just stares at her, and I stare at him. He walks out of the room and Rowena and I sit there in silence. A few hours go by before Crowley informs me secretly that Dean is on his way. Although that doesn't make everything okay it helps my nerves. Dean will know what to do. After an awkward exchange between Crowley and Rowena involving tea, he leaves to meet my husband. Rowena sips on her tea and I let my curiosity get the best of me and I have to ask "you really feel like family is weakness?"
She looks up from where she is slightly sipping and smirks "I've had been dead a long long time ago if I thought family was important."
I shake my head "but here you are now, and both you and your son are still alive. Don't you see that as a sign that maybe you were meant to reconcile? I mean what are the odds of him becoming the king of hell after his mother sold him for some pigs?" I spit out what I know about the two's relationship.
She sits up further in her chair as I speak and when I am done she replies "there's a different between you and I deary. You see, I didn't want a kid, I never wanted that burden but the kid's father was a pig. Would you say it better I have killed Fergus instead of selling him?"
I gape at the suggestion "of course not! But to trade him, and then to try and kill him now?"
"He's trying to kill me, too." She reminds me.
I nod and remind her "because you sold him when he was a kid. Of course he's angry. And instead of owning up to it and accepting your part, you continue to be a witch. Pun intended." I eye her up and down.
She simply sips her tea and says "you're not much better then me darling, you should really step off that high horse of yours."
Before I could open my mouth to respond, Crowley comes back into the room. He walks over to where Rowena is standing by a fire place and she asks "how's Dean?"
"Pardon?" His eyes find mine and I shake my head no from where I sit, telling him I didn't tell her.
She explains "little tip, love. The next time you go about making secret plans, check your pockets."
He looks inside his pocket and there is a small hex back that he pulls out "you heard."
He throws the bag into the fire as she answers "everything."
He sighs but doesn't seem to care "not that it matters."
"What does that mean, big boy?" She asks sarcastically, not understanding.
And in reality, either do I. He explains "a little tip, mother. Never accept a cup of tea from someone who loathes you."
She laughs then begins to cough. Dean walks in, something odd in his hand. She coughs some more and he quickly swoops closer to her and throws something onto her neck. I stand up as I watch. Although the contraption is appalling, I know it must be needed. Rowena squeals loudly "get this bloody thing off of me!"
"Oh, I would, but this bloody thing makes you my slave." Crowley smirks "hop on one foot."
She argues "please, Fergus. I don't know what kind of Oedipal fifty shades you think you're playing at, but if you think for a second.." but she stops as she realizes she is hopping on one foot as directed "bollocks."
"All right, let's do this." Dean says and nods. I go over to him, wanting a quick embrace or some kind of acknowledgement but he just smiles then walks away. I don't have time to really dwell on it though, because all of them have left the room and I need to follow them so I don't get lost.
Crowley demands Rowena to work on the spell that can get Sam out of the cage and Lucifer expelled back to hell. As she works on it, Dean paces and asks "so this spell is supposed to slam Lucifer back in the box. How long's this gonna take?"
"About five minutes." She replies and I nod with an exhale, knowing Sam's already been in there too long. But she adds on then "unless Sam says yes."
"And if he does?" Crowley asks the rhetoric question.
"He won't!" Dean argues.
"But if he does?" Crowley repeats his questions.
Rowena explains "if Lucifer finds a vessel, he'll be anchored to Earth. The incantation won't work."
I say blatantly "and then we're screwed."
There are footsteps coming close to us and one of Crowley's men comes ushering inside in a panic "I'm sorry, my Lord. I tried to--"
Castiel comes through the door in a huff and Dean gets out "Cas?"
"Oh, good, the Angel's here." Crowley says sarcastically.
"What's happened?" Dean asks him.
"Amara, she's -- she's alive." Castiel utters back.
"Amara?" I look to Dean "you saw her?" I question.
He doesn't answer me or look at me as Castiel moves to step forward and show us something "She -- she sent this message."
I look to Castiel but then I can see Dean look to me as he said that. I just keep my eyes ahead as he opens his shirt a bit and burned into his flesh is a message. It read 'I am coming.' Crowley reads it out loud as I stare at it ""I am coming"? Is that a threat?
Dean exhales heavily and offers the other idea "or a promise."
