"I still can't believe that Crowley's mom is alive, and is a witch!" I explain once Sam and Dean return and we've talked for a bit. They explained everything to me, that once Crowley saw the photo his eyes glazed with anger. They knew something was off but he tried to lie about it, claiming he didn't know her. A little more pressure put on him and he cracked like an egg. His mother abandoned him as a child, and he has more hatred for her than anything or anyone else in the world. The fact that she was a witch didn't surprise him though, and they wondered if he knew about that part before she left him.
"Does she know about you?" Dean asked him.
"Shouldn't have a clue. Crowley wasn't a name that abomination gave me" he scowled back.
The brothers gave him a strange look "Fergus" they said in unison, remembering the time they had to hunt down his bones.
Crowley's lip twitched and he responded "she tried to sell me for 3 pigs, woman was a terrible mother, you can't rule hell with a name like Fergus!"
After explaining the rest of their conversation to me we switched gears and tried to figure a way to find her, trap her, and tell us about the book she has in her possession. We talk for awhile, trying to figure something out "is he going to help us?" I finally ask the question that's been gnawing at me.
"Doesn't want anything to do with her" Sam responds annoyed.
"He's gone soft" Dean sighs "like me" he adds on lowly.
"You're not soft Dean" I push "your protecting your son, that's the opposite of soft. That's heroic" I explain.
"Ya, whatever. Let's just find this women and put an end to this Mark" he says back.
I sigh, too tired to try and encourage him. I'm so proud of everything he's trying to do and I only wish he could see that.
A few days pass with our research pulling up little information on her. She's been spending her time across seas and this appears to be her first visit to America in over 100 years. We're sitting across from one another at breakfast when Dean catches a break "here!" He shouts looking over a laptop with a clap of his hands before pointing to the screen.
I stand up quickly and hurry over to see what it is. On the screen is a surveillance video and Rowena is seen walking out of a high end hotel lobby "where is this from?" I question, unsure of how he got it.
He looks at me when he starts to explain "there was a suicide in New Orleans that I just didn't think sounded right. I decided to look into it. The man checked into this hotel, and never left. I've been looking at the surveillance video for the past week and she checks into the hotel one week before he was killed."
"A week before?" I question, thinking.
"And get this.." He adds on "I didn't see her on the tape ever leaving" he raises his eyebrows eagerly.
My brains runs through the possible scenarios quickly, like a rapid fire weapon "so she's probably still there" I come to the same conclusion he has. "We should go" I add on.
"We?" He questions me. "Hayden, you shouldn't be dealing with a witch, especially one we know nothing about.. Who is related to Crowley of all people!" He tries to persuade me from coming along.
"No." I argue firmly "there isn't anything I wouldn't do for my son, and i'll be dammed if I let some witch try to ruin the chance we have at this.. I'm coming, that's that." I end whatever argument could have continued.
He sighs defeated, knowing he wouldn't win this one "well, what about Paul?" He asks next.
I haven't really thought to that yet, and I rack my brain trying to come up with a good solution "Can't we ask Charlie, or Garth?" I shrug.
