"Newt, you do something"

I heard someone call and I frightenedly looked up, he can't jump in. He saw what happened to Gally. No one seemed quite prepared to jump in just yet, battering and arguing going on about me and how I was clever. They were like dogs staring at a cat standing on a rock in the middle of a pond. They couldn't get to me, so they stood there looking stupid trying to think of something.

After some long and loud 5 minutes, someone finally decided to do something. I watched fear streaked as another boy dropped in, this one thinner. The boy was just as tall as the other but he was slim and muscular, like he was born skinny but years of working had filled him out. He had short and blonde hair and a defined jaw line.

His eyebrows drew together as he faced the hog, what looked to be a rope in his hand. He seemed to have done this before because in a matter of seconds he had roped the hog and was hauling it towards the waiting hands of people out of the box.

My heart rate was through the roof and it pounded in my ears, my breathing was quick and short as all hope and courage seemed to flood out the window. I was left a quivering and clueless mess in the far end of the cage I was in.

I was freaking out, I didn't know who these people were and what they wanted with me, I didn't know where I came from or who sent me here. I didn't understand anything that was going on and that was making my mind race in a flurry of confusion, I didn't know what was going on and I hated it.

Finally, the Pig was heaved away and I was left defenceless with this guy. Sticking out of a holster on his back was the handle of a big knife which made my throat tighten up, crap what do I do?

The place was filled with silence again as the young boy turned his eyes on me, this one looked around 16, older maybe, he had a very youthful face anyway. He had a strong look about him, like someone who would beat the hell out of you even if he didn't seem it, but his eyes, they had something else, a very deep sympathy dwelling in the galaxy of his eyes. He gazed into my eyes and the harder I looked the more I noticed about him, he had a gentle look about him, but I couldn't let myself fall into that trap. "the devil's eyes must shine like gold, if he is to live with a heart so cold" I don't know where I remembered the rhyme from, just popped into my head, no face, no voice, no rhythm came with it.

We stared for a few more seconds before his brows released from their scowl and he looked at me with a curious look. He seemed confused, not by my arrival but my gender. Was whoever sent me to this weird lift sending these boys supplies?

I watched cautiously as the boy crouched, sitting on his heels as he cocked his head, he had a very playful and childish look hidden beneath those eyes of his, like a fairy was hiding, only coming out when he chose to play and smile.

"Hello, Greenie. Don't worry now, they're not going to hurt you. I'll protect you, cutie"

... the hell!? I may not know just how old I am but I'm not 4, stop talking to me like that. It didn't however go unnoticed that this guy had an accent of some sort. Sexy accent If I do say so myself, I couldn't remember where it was from but it was a nice accent. I gulped and looked at the boy wearily, not sure whether to believe him or not.

"just relax now. Look here, my name's Newt... can you tell me yours?"

He said calmly, like he was talking to me to keep me relaxed, well it seemed to be working. I could feel my heart rate slowing to a restless patter as my throat began to wet itself again, the desert in my mouth starting to fade over time.

I though hard about his question, fishing through all the memories I had, which wasn't much. I searched for a bit, sifting through useless thoughts, how I learnt to ride a bike, swimming, dancing, building sand castle... but then something brushed over my head. The words formed something in my ears which sounded familiar.
