Newt when he's in his Giddy mood
___________________________

It was getting closer to dinner and I spent most of my day looming around the Glade, seeing as Minho was out and running around the maze. Newt was Busy with ben and Chuck was helping the newbie, I didn't even know that kids name.

"Oi Greenie"

I cringed when I heard Gally's voice behind me, ugh why does he have to annoy me when I'm actually doing ok. wake up from a coma, a new kid arrived and now Gally is driving me up the wall. But, I tried to stay civil and greeted him as normal.

"what's up dummy diapers?"

I raised my eyebrows as I turned around, folding my arms as I faced him. He seemed to be trying not to get angry, a calming breath rushing from his mouth as I tried to focus, what does he want? He grinded his teeth before folding his arms just like mine.

"the New Kid. You recognised him too"

It wasn't a question, I felt slightly threatened with his tone, it was an accusation, like he straight up assumed I remember him from somewhere, and I don't need to be a genius to know that If I remember someone when we don't remember anything, I know that that's not good.

I thought back to the second I saw his brown hair and tall figure, he did look slightly familiar, kind of like that thing you do when you look once before snapping back, like you've seen someone you know, but then you realise you didn't, so you just look away again. something triggered my mind when I saw him, otherwise I wouldn't have thought I remember him.

It was a real head spin trying to think of the boy, kind of made me sick actually. I snorted before folding my arms.

"so what, seemed slightly familiar. But then so do a lot of people"

He narrowed his eyes at me as I tried to bend the conversation, didn't seem to be working, I didn't trust Gally enough to confide in him, this doesn't mean anything, a lot of people look familiar, hell Bark looked familiar for god's sakes and he's just a dog.

Gally drummed his fingers on his arms before leaning his weight onto his opposite leg.

"that's...interesting. I've seen that boy before and I will find out why he's here"

"Gally I know your stupid, but no one is that freaking stupid, he's a greenie, he's not here for any reason other than the people running this are crazy. Get perspective idiot"

Gally growled loudly before storming off, leaving me be, thank the gods for that. I glowered at him as he left, what was he thinking? Honestly there Is no way that this boy is any different than the others, what did Gally think the boy was here for? To repaint to maze walls? Please!

...

It was nightfall and I was just heading out of the kitchen, Newt walking by my side, bumping my shoulder with a huge smile on his face. I loved his smile, he seemed so much younger when he smiled. It suited him.

We stopped halfway between my bed and the Homestead, seeing as Newt has his own room and I refused to sleep in that building we slept far apart.

He smiled at the ground before looking up at me through his lashes, god he was adorable. Wait did I just think that? his eyes were full of wonder tonight, what was making him so happy?

"Well there Mr Cheerful what's gotten you in a good mood. Frypans mushrooms messing with your brain?"

I chuckled, and he rolled his eyes, but then he scrunched his face up in confusion, like he really didn't know why. Wow, how rare is that? unexplainable joy, how amazing. In a place like this, happiness is either forced or not there at all, Newt was lucky. I'm glad its him, he needed to smile.
