The meeting ended soon after, we had everything sorted and the second Newt had sent everyone on their way for jobs and I had given Minho a long and warm hug my heart started to speed up a little.

The whole idea of this escape was starting to feed on my fears. It was normal, I'm sure everyone was getting freaked out. I just hope that my fear and nerves don't get me, or anyone else killed.

I was walking with Newt heading towards where Thomas was sitting with Teresa on a bench by the gardens, he looked to us and by the looks of it he dropped her hand. They were holding hands, were they a thing now?

"Come on, we don't have all day"

Newt coaxed, and I broke into a run with him, his limp wavering his step. It seemed to get better slowly over time. before it slowly got bad again, he'd have a week of being really good then for a few days it looked bad, I wondered about its severity. I mean he's always got a limp but sometimes it does so well, then others it seems he can barely walk.

We crossed the glade before we slowed down to stand before Thomas, Newt folded his arms as we came to a halt, deep down I knew there was some conflict in Newt's mind, but he knew as well as I that we had no other choice, this was all we had left now. Even if death was a very real outcome. But it seemed like it always was.

"This is bloody nuts, you know that, right?"

Thomas had a flush of excitement and victory flooding his eyes as he jumped up to his feet. If anyone knew what was going on it was Thomas, he was the one who wanted this to happen.

"So, they agreed to go?"

He was beyond excited, somewhere deep in my mind I had a tick of irritation for how happy he sounded, sure this could be our escape, but we were almost guaranteed to have people die, how could he be this happy?

Newt sighed before nodding

"All of them. Wasn't as hard as I thought it'd be. Those shanks've seen what happens at night with those bloody doors open. We can't get out of the stupid maze. Gotta try something. Now we just have to convince the gladers"

I looked around at the keepers as they started gathering their groups, getting the Gladers on our side is going to be the hardest part of this job, but we had to try, we have to try. That's all we could do now.

"You think they'll go for it?"

Teresa spoke this time, it surprised me to hear her voice, she stood too and matched my height, maybe even being slightly taller. It didn't intimidate me. I had a pecking suspicion that whatever she did when she worked for wicked, she's hurt me. No matter what, I didn't trust her, there was just something there, something I didn't like.

"Not all of them, some'll stay and take their chances, guarantee it"

"What about Ably?"

Hearing his name made my stomach churn, not because of what he did, but because I didn't hate him for it. I didn't hate him for what he did. He's faced a lot, he was still a stupid piece of klunk. But I guess everyone can go crazy if pushed enough.

Newt looked conflicted by the question, but he answered, not managing to look at Thomas or anyone while saying it.

"Who knows? I'm convinced that bugger really is more scared to go back home than he is of the grievers. But I'll get him to go with us, don't worry"

"How are you going to convince him?"

Thomas asked, I too shared his curiosity, Alby was a very stubborn person, when he made his mind up he didn't change it, I struggled to see how he is going to convince Alby that what he was seeing was all a load of crap and that we will all be ok. I struggled to believe it.
