"Why?" Kit cannot believe his ears. The searing pain seeped through every vein of his heart, constricting it --- crushing it. He refused to accept that these cold eyes staring straight at him belonged to the person who gave him every reason to believe that he is worthy of being loved.
"I just can't do this anymore." His voice is even colder than his eyes. Every word is like a dagger plunging into Kit's heart.
"Y-you," Kit's voice is now failing him. He can feel the blood pumping in his face, especially around his eyes. "You can't do this to me Ming."
"I'm sorry," Ming coldly said. "I don't want you anymore."
T-this is not Ming, Kit is in great disbelief. Where is he, what happened to him?
"T-this is not..." he tried to smile, convincing himself that this is not real, but his tears started to race down his cheeks. His face is now a bright scarlet from all the blood that was forced into his head. He felt a lump forming in his throat so he took in another breath before continuing. "This is not funny Ming."
"Isn't it clear to you yet, Kit?" Ming rolled his eyes and sipped from his coffee.
"Is this the reason why you were so cold for the last three months?" His voice is cracking but a hint of anger is imminent in it.
Ming just raised an eyebrow and smirked as if to tell Kit, Duh.
"Oh..." Kit showed a sarcastic smile but his tears refused to stop falling. His face is now soaking with it. "So, I'm right with my gut feel then, huh? The feeling that you're avoiding me. That you were never home, or at least that's what your parents say. That I must wait for almost three days at end for your reply. How many missed calls do you have a day from a single number Ming? Ten? Fifteen? Thirty?" He sobbed.
"I'm just done playing with you." Ming looked at him straight to the eyes. "I mean, two years is quite a long time already. You're the record holder."
"Should I say, 'Thank you' then?" He feels the anger building inside him. He will explode anytime soon. He feels like drowning, drowning in his own tears --- in his own grief.
"No need, I enjoyed it as well anyway."
"Then why?" He can't control the trembling of his hands. "I-Is there someone else?" He is not sure if he's prepared for his answer.
"Nope." He took a deep breath before continuing. "I just realized that I am not yet ready for this. I'm not ready for commitments. I missed my individuality. I missed my freedom."
"So, I'm suffocating you?" His heart sunk. "Is that it?"
Ming just shrugged his shoulders, still oblivious of the suffering unfolding in front of him.
"I-If you want." Kit lowered his eyes and sobbed, as if to hide his tears and pain. "I-I can change."
"It's too late for that."
