Forth can feel the heavy atmosphere surrounding him, making him extremely anxious. Chiang Mai normally has a very pleasant weather even in the middle of the day, but Forth swears that the dining room of the house feels so hot from all the emotional friction of the people in it that he worried that the entire place may set itself on fire. He can't help but roam his eyes around the people gathered in the room. The delicious aroma of the food served in front of them cannot mask the tension that is gradually building up around him. No one is speaking, Beam is still eyeing Kit, Ming, and Ynan with predatory glares. Forth sighed, he just wanted to feed his revolting stomach with the lunch served to them by the kind Aunt Song. They are all seated around the table, Kit was situated on the front as courtesy of being the host of the house, to his left around the corner is Ynan who is still refusing to peel himself off his Angel. Right next to him is his father, who's eyes are full of obvious anxiety. He's wearing the most impeccable behavior Forth have seen so far, Ming looks like a poor wet puppy. To Ming's left is Yo, who appears to be on alert for any possible ceramic projectiles that may come flying to their direction. Pha seated on the far end of the table opposite to Kit, he's calm yet Forth can see that he is ready to spring into action should any of the steaming soup rain over them. Forth is seating on the other side of the table, opposite to Yo. Beam is seated to his left, right next to Kit and opposite to Ming, completing the cycle."Here's the last one." Aunt Song smiled awkwardly as she lay the final dish on the table surrounded with volatile aura. She then moved away gracefully but with obvious haste.
"I'm hungry," Ynan broke the deafening silence with a little pout.
I wish I'm like that kid. I just wanna fill my tummy. Forth became suddenly envious with Ynan's oblivion and innocence.
"L-Let's eat?" Kit nervously enticed his visitors to just focus on the beautifully presented food on the table. That prompted the rest to start helping themselves, the rest are clearly hungry with how they went on ravaging the food on the table. But Beam didn't move and continued with his hostile flare.
"What do you want to try, baby?" Kit tried to focus on the small man beside him to ease his own jitters.
"That one." Ynan pointed at the Thai fried chicken on the far end of the table, way beyond the reach of his own short and stubby arms.
"Beam," Kit called his attention, making Beam snap out of his murderous thoughts. "Will you please pass the Gaithot."
Beam lukewarmly lifted the plate of golden brown chicken dish on his side of the table and passed it to Kit. How dare this child make Kit roll on his palms like his friend is a piece of round marble? This child is Ming's spawn and they are both toying with their Kitty. How can a child be so evil at this very young age? And Kit just allows himself to be manipulated by this evil munchkin. This is very unaccepta.....
"Thank you, Uncle Beam." Ynan said with the most adorable boyish smile he has.
Oh shit, I'm a terrible person. Beam swears his heart just shrunk like a popped bubblegum. A great surge of guilt flooded his collapsing heart, making his very flesh ache. How can he be so cruel to a boy this sweet? He was left with a very pained face as he looks at how happy the child as Kit placed the drumstick on his plate. A sudden longing wrapped him like a blanket.
