Chapter 27

Renee sorted herself in the toilet, she wiped away her tears, she applied new lipstick, fixed any bit of her hair that was out of place and walked back into the cafeteria.

Dean was still talking to the members of the student council and thanking them for how they helped him, especially Bayley, when he felt a tap on his shoulder.

He turned around to see Renee.

Renee Young- "Hey, stranger. Can we go for a walk and talk?"

Dean Ambrose- "Of course."

Dean and Renee left the cafeteria and went for a long walk around the school.

Renee Young- "You were right all along. They were just using me to try and get to you."

Dean Ambrose- "They didn't realise how genuinely nice of a person you are, they just wanted to use you as a pawn in their sick game."

Renee Young- "I know and now I'm so mad that it took me two years to figure that out. Two years of our friendship that we've missed out on. The memories, the stories and the laughs, all gone."

Dean Ambrose- "Then that means we need to make up for lost time."

Renee Young- "Before that, I need to apologise for everything. I'm so sorry that I ditched the friendship we had for all those girls. I was never one of the popular kids, even back in Canada, and when that opportunity came around I didn't want to let it slip. I'm sorry I wasn't there for you when your papa died, I'm sorry I didn't believe you when you warned me over and over about Charlotte."

Dean Ambrose- "Renee, I forgave you before you even apologised. You mean so much to me."

Renee hugged Dean.

Renee Young- "This is weird."

Dean Ambrose- "Why?"

Renee Young- "In the last two years you finally grew taller than me."

Dean smiled.

Dean Ambrose- "I've missed you."

Renee released the hug.

Renee Young- "Since I ditched my friend group, I don't have anyone to hang around with now."

Dean Ambrose- "Sure you do, you're hanging with me, Roman, Seth and Paige. I'll get you back on good terms with Sasha, Nattie, Sami, Bayley and Becky and you've always been fine with Daniel, Brie and Nikki."

Renee Young- "What about John?"

Dean Ambrose- "He's been hanging with Randy, Dolph, Miz, Finn and Cesaro since he broke up with Nikki."

Renee Young- "I forgot they broke up."

Dean Ambrose- "That's not important, the important thing is that I got my friend back."

Renee Young- "Just a friend? I thought I was your best friend."

Dean Ambrose- "It's been two years, Roman and Sami have moved up and Seth has come along, you've got stiff competition, everyone wants to be my best friend."

Renee Young- "Challenge accepted."

Dean Ambrose- "Our parents will be really happy to see that we are back on good terms."

Renee Young- "When should we tell them?"

Dean Ambrose- "I think we should surprise them at the bakery after school. I seriously think they might cry."

Renee Young- "Let's do it then, at the bakery, after school."

Dean and Renee returned to the cafeteria where AJ and Charlotte were standing waiting for them.
