The crowd, that were anticipating the performance from Elias, filed into the building, one-by-one, until the venue was at capacity.
The venue was set up so that there were genuine seats around the sides but the floor was fully standing, with no seats. The majority of the tickets were standing tickets, which meant that Renee, Sami, Seth, Paige, Dean, Nikki, Brie, Natalya, Sasha, Bayley, and Becky, were all standing together. They were even fortunate enough to get fairly close to the stage where Elias would be performing.
The arena was electric, just waiting for the talented musician, that was Elias, to take to the stage.
Brie Bella- "This is going to be so good."
Renee Young- "I heard that he will do some covers as well as his original songs."
Suddenly, the lights went out, the arena was plunged into complete darkness, and the crowd started screaming. It remained dark for around a minute until the announcer, a sharply dressed man named Greg Hamilton, spoke out to the crowd.
Greg Hamilton- "Ladies and gentleman, Elias."
A guitar strum echoed throughout the building and a spotlight shone onto Elias. Once again the crowd errupted for Stamford Island's resident trubadour.
There he was, sat on his stool, guitar in hand, stage microphone attached to him. He waited until the crowd's cheering was down to a level he could actually talk over.
Elias- "Hello, I am Elias."
The crowd cheered again, before Elias played a simple tune from his guitar, without singing.
Elias- "I will start off tonight by playing one of my favourite songs, it's also one of your favourite songs and if you say otherwise you are lying, but before that I have just one question for everyone here tonight. Who wants to walk with Elias?"
The crowd cheered back at Elias, who was taken aback by the reaction he got.
Elias- "Usually, it's only Europe that give me reactions as good as that."
The songwriter chuckled to himself.
Elias- "Of course I will start off by performing The Ballad Of Every Town I've Ever Been To."
The crowd were cheering after everything Elias said. He had them hooked as he started his first song of the night.
Elias(singing)- "Hello. I am Elias and you're going to remember this forever
I was born a drifter
And my highway is the skyPittsburgh to Philly
Chicago to LA
Portland, San Diego
Down to Santa Fe
Hartford to Albany
Couldn't get much worse
Every time I come here it feels like I've been cursed
Minneapolis, all the way to Omaha
I can't even describe the ignorance I sawI'm waiting for a town that's not such a disgrace
But I see so many stupid people, I wanna punch them in the faceEvery city I go, it all feels the same
It's got to be the people, they're the ones to blame
Detroit to Nashville - it's an American music scene
When I look into their eyes it makes me wanna screamI'm waiting for a town that's not such a disgrace
But I see so many lost people, I wanna punch them in the faceNew York, it feels like hell
And San Antonio as well
Phoenix to Seattle is where my darkest thoughts dwellI'm waiting for a town that's not such a disgrace
Grab your cross and walk with me, or I'll punch you in the face
I'm waiting for a town that's not such a disgrace
But I see so many stupid people, I wanna punch them in the face
