Chapter 72

It had been a difficult night for Renee after going to 10 Bucket Avenue to find Dean, bring him home, give him a place to live, and see his parents walk away from him. If it wasn't for her yoga sessions, she probably would have freaked out by now. Having not had as much sleep as she would have liked, she made the walk to school herself.

As soon as she got to the gates the school bell ran to signal the start of first period, which made her run to get into the school building before they locked the door to prevent people from getting in. Her first class was of course Maths with Mrs McCool, which had most of her friends in it. She walked into that class a lot happier than she had done for the past few weeks.

The class got started with Mrs McCool teaching the class. Once she had gone through the powerpoint for the subject they were studying, which was simultaneous equations, she handed out textbooks to members of the class and left them to work through specific pages.

Mrs McCool- "Pages fifty-seven through to page sixty has plenty of questions for you to try. What you don't finish in class I would like you to finish for homework so I would suggest you buckle down and get as much done as possible in the time you have for the rest of the period."

Mrs McCool left the room to go to the supplies cupboard and naturally the class decended into conversation. Renee was sat next to Paige and opted to keep her voice quiet so only Paige could hear her.

Renee Young(whisper)- "Paige, I need you to keep this between the two of us. I don't want to get the hopes up of the others."

Paige Bevis(whisper)- "Sure, what's up?"

Renee Young(whisper)- "Last night I went out and found Dean. He is in my house right now but I'm not really sure what we are going to do with him."

Paige Bevis(whisper)- "I have so many questions but I will wait until we are alone."

Renee Young(whisper)- "I'm not sure how much I can say though because I want to keep a lot of what has happened quiet. I guess it's up to him to decide whether he wants people to know what went on."

Paige Bevis(whisper)- "Regardless, I am so happy to hear that he is safe. How is your mum feeling about it all?"

Renee Young(whisper)- "Pretty well so far. I think she understands that Dean isn't perfect and that he needs an arm around him right now instead of someone yelling at him for his mistakes. I am honestly more concerned about my dad. My mum has unlimited patience but my dad can be pretty strict at times."

Paige Bevis(whisper)- "Does Roman and Seth know?"

Renee Young(whisper)- "Not unless Dean told them so I don't think they know."

Paige Bevis(whisper)- "Do you think we should tell them?"

Renee Young(whisper)- "I think that we should leave it up to Dean. If he wants them to know then he will tell them. Nothing is stopping him from going to their houses and having a talk with either of them. I think he wants to start working on himself, he doesn't want them to see him when he feels so low and that is understandable."

Paige Bevis(whisper)- "It's just so difficult knowing that someone you care about is in such a bad place. All we can do is stand by him and support him from afar until he puts his faith in us."

Renee Young(whisper)- "That is all we can do. You can not say a thing to anyone about this though. Don't even text me about it because then there is proof that I told you."

Paige Bevis(whisper)- "It's ok, you know I won't tell anyone."

The friends finished that period as normal and they even made it to break without any issues but that run would quickly come to an end. After Geography had ended, Roman and Renee walked past Mr McMahon's office where they saw Mr McMahon had some company. It was Mr Michaels and AJ Styles both sitting across the desk from him, the door left ajar by a principal who had no issues with the rest of the school hearing about his meetings and what he had to say.
