Chapter 67

Tuesday, May 15th 2020

It was another miserable morning for Dean, as he knew that neither of his brothers in arms would be going to school that morning.

Seth was still feeling woozy following the attack from Gallows and Anderson in the park and Roman's knee was in bad shape after the beating he took yesterday.

Dean wanted to march right into school that morning and beat the club to a pulp but he knew that he couldn't. He didn't have the numbers to stand a credible chance.

He could get a few good shots in but until Roman, not so much Seth, was back, it was all about survival.

Since he didn't have Seth to walk with again, and because his mom started work later that day, he was able to get a ride to school.

He sat in the car, staring out the window, not saying much.

Mrs Ambrose- "What's on your mind?"

Dean hesitated before responding but that pause did not last long at all.

Dean Ambrose- "Just school and stuff."

Mrs Ambrose- "What is the stuff?"

Dean Ambrose- "More school."

Mrs Ambrose- "I know it can be hard but you just need to soldier on."

Dean Ambrose- "Yeah, I know."

Mrs Ambrose- "If you want to talk about anything in particular, you know I'm here."

Dean Ambrose- "I know."

The rest of the journey was spent in silence. Dean's mom was of course worried about him, it's instincts at this point considering how special Dean is to her, being the only child she has to take care of.

Dean got out and slowly approached the school gates, his fists clenched in preparation for an oncoming attack.

He got into school fine but when he was walking down the corridor towards the cafeteria someone jumped out at him.

Bayley Martinez- "Hey, Dean!"

Dean jumped in fright and turned to face Bayley with his fists balled, ready to fight.

Bayley Martinez- "Woah, calm down there, cowboy."

Dean, upon realising it was Bayley, lowered his fists and relaxed slightly.

Dean Ambrose- "I'm sorry, I'm just on edge right now."

Bayley Martinez- "Understandably so, I heard about what happened to Roman."

Dean Ambrose- "Who's side did you hear?"

Bayley Martinez- "Renee told me first of all that he got attacked by The Club but then I also overheard AJ telling people that Gallows and Anderson scared Roman so badly that he twisted his ankle trying to run away from them."

Dean Ambrose- "I'm sure you know who is telling the truth."

Bayley Martinez- "Obviously. So you now think that you might be attacked next."

Dean Ambrose- "You put the pieces together well."

Bayley Martinez- "Surely they wouldn't attack you if you stayed in a group."

Dean Ambrose- "They sure as hell wouldn't attack me if I had my brothers with me."

Bayley Martinez- "Well then, we will have to do."

Dean Ambrose- "We?"

Bayley Martinez- "Yeah you know you can always come and sit with me, Nattie, Becky, Sasha, and Sami."
