Hayes and I had been inseparable for the last three weeks. We would go to the beach with my sister and Nash, or go to the movies. My sister and Nash were (sort of) a couple. They would sleepover at each other’s houses and just walk home the next day. All this fun I hadn’t been able to play my cello's much.
Thinking about this I picked up my cello and rosined the bow. Chances are Hayes would come over when he heard me playing. I didn't expect him to like classical music, but he said that when I played it, it sounded better that when others did.
Plucking the strings lightly to check if it was in tune, I slid the bow gently over the strings. A low mellifluous (like my vocab) sound came out. I looked back up to my stand and began to play the piece in front of me.
Not to brag or anything but I kind of have a talent for writing music. This piece was a composition about two sides fighting. There were two sounds that were completely different but fused to sound like actual combat. While playing it, I was so focused on the notes that i barely realized that Hayes had climbed up the side of my house and into my window.
As I finished there was a round of applause. But this round of applause came from more than just one person.
"See," Hayes said "I told you she was good."
I whipped around to see three boys sitting on my bed. Seated next to Hayes were Matthew Espinosa and Carter Reynolds. They were both wearing hoodies and snapbacks, I could feel myself fangirling.
"I guess." Carter said. "But i still don’t see the hype in classical music."
"I don’t know." Responded Matt." I thought it was pretty good."
I could feel myself blushing. Matt noticed it too and winked at me.
"So." Isaid turning to Hayes." Are you going to sneak people into my room on a regular basis, or is this just a onetime thing?"
He laughed and fell back on my bed. "Well I don’t know did you like it?"
I raised an eyebrow and he dropped the subject.
"So I finished that book Animal Farm, it definitely is like middle school, if the populars over threw the teachers"
Both Carter and Matt laughed.
"I have to admit." Hayes flipped his dark brown hair mid-sentence. “We’re not just here to hear the musical talents on Myra Gerry. We came to invite you and Ali to a bonfire. My mom is out of town and Will got us some beer, if you want it."
"I would love to come, but i don’t drink, and I’m sure my sister would love and excuse seeing Nash, so we'll be there."
"Okay be there at nine." They said as they climbed out of my window.
I looked at my clock. 6:30 had 2 and half hours to get ready. Walking out of my room, I walked exactly two steps across the hall to my sister’s room. I didn’t even bother to knock, and just walked right in on Nash sticking his tongue down my sister’s throat.
