Myra
Diana had somehow convinced me today to go to the movies with her and Harris. They were going to see some thriller, that they would undoubtedly end up making out at, which would leave me, alone.
"Diana," I groaned, "Must I go with you two? You won't miss me if I'm not there."
"Don't be silly, you need to get out more," She said from across the room, where she sat at a desk putting on make up.
I groaned and slumped down on the bed. "Im going to be alone."
"No you wont, Harris is going to bring a friend," she got up and walked out of her room.
"Is it Chuck?" I asked following her out of the room.
"Nope," she opened the front door. There stood two familiar figures, Harris and Hayes. Diana hugged Harris and gave hima quick peck on the lips.
I smiled at Hayes and walked out to the car. I dont know why Diana wouldnt tell me it was Hayes.
I gave him a little wave making him smile. We walked out to Harris' older brothers car. Harris sat in the front and Hayes Diana and I were packed in the back. Hayes was in the middle and Diana and I were packed in the sides. I wasn't very talkative, but I kept up with the conversation. They were laughing about something Hayes said.
"Hey," Hayes tapped me on the shoulder. I turned to him he smiled at me.
"What?" I giggled. Slightly higher than I usually would. Earning me a look from Diana.
"Nothing just thought you were being quiet," now I was blushing pretty hard. "so how's the cello going?"
"Well, I was told I was back where I was when I stopped." I stopped myself there, talking about the accident usually freaked people out.
"That's great!" Hayes beamed, "have you heard from that school?"
"What school?" I asked.
"That one you applied to back in November," he waited for it to click. But it wasn't. "Oh yeah, from what you told me a while ago it's in New York, some special prodigy school,"
"Oh, I didn't even know about it, I'll wait for the letter to come I guess."
I ran through my head. I could go some place that no one knows me, I could start over. Apparently I had been quiet for a while.
"Sorry to spring that on you," hayes said. The words hat put me into thought pulled me out.
"No problem, I'm just..... thinking."
He frowned at me , but didn't push. We parked and got out. Blankly I got I tot he theater and sat down.
Hayes was next to me, tapping on his arm rest. His hand hovered near mine during the previews. And about twenty minutes into the movie his hand had migrated to very close to mine.
He nonchalantly took my hand and held it. I must have been to preoccupied to pull away, but I didn't mind him holding my hand.
Hayes and I had grow close over the past month. Sometimes I could see him wanting to go a little farther in a friends relationship but I usually stopped it. This was he first time I let him show more affection than smiling.
His hand stayed glued to mine for the rest of the movie, and then on the way out to the car. Even the slightest touch of his hand on my made my heart race faster.
He got out of the car with me and dropped me off at the front door. My father had left for his first business trip since I came back from the hospital, do it was just me and Ali.
"I had a lot of fun tonight," he said outside of my door. I nodded my head and looked down at the ground.
"I did too," I looked up, blushing slightly. He was looking me right in the eyes. His blue eyes matched with my brown ones.
It was gentle at first. His hand slide a piece of hair behind my ear, and then his face leaned in. His soft lips came in contact with mine for the first time I could remember. It felt so amazing, not a spark, but a fire has started between us, a fire that had been sparking for months.
He drew back, "you have no idea how long I wanted to do that," he grinned down at me. "And now, I'm going to do it again."
His lips once again collided with mine. Not so gentle this time. His force moved me against a bush behind me. Unfortunately I wasn't very prepared for this forced and we both fell into the bushes in front of my house.
"Shit! I'm so sorry," I apologies to him. But he was laughing loudly.
His laugher was contagious and we were laughing in my bushes. "Gosh you're the best," I said catching my breath.
He looked at me, and for the first time I kissed him. My lips just kind of locked onto his and there we were. Kissing for the third time that night.
The door opened, "Really you guys?" Ali and Nash were looking down at us from the front door. "You two have your first kiss, and it's in a god damn bush?"
I quickly jumped up and brushed off my pants. Hayes did the same.
"Come on Hayes, we have to go have a talk about kissing in bushes." Nash grabbed Hayes into a noogie. "Let's go,"
Ali brought me inside and gave me an odd smile. "What?"
"You kissed Hayes," she taunted.
"To be fair he kissed me first." I smirk back at her, and went up to bed.
