Play Flightless Bird by Iron and Wine
When you feel itMyra's POV
"You have to look nice tonight!"Ali called from outside my door. I sighed and looked at the full length mirror. I thought I did look nice, but apparently my white blouse and skinny jeans were not good enough.
I looked at the dress Ali had throw in my room minutes ago. It was a maroon skater dress, the sleeves reached down to my wrists . It went an inch above my knees. It was simple but elegant. After a moment of contemplating I threw on the dress.
I put on my grey tights and gold flats with it. Then put on my peacoat. Looking in the mirror I sighed, I wished I had Diana's input on the dress, or Fiona's cocky ideas for accessories but that's behind me.
Walking out of my room I saw Nash and Hayes sitting downs stairs. They were talking to my sister about some party Nash's friends were holding. T sounded much more fun than the one me and Hayes were going to.
The noticed me when I was walking down, I smiled at him, hoping he wouldn't see me blushing. "Ready to go?" he asked. I nodded not speaking.
We all go into Nash's truck, like every other time we have to go anywhere. Laughing and singing to out of date Christmas songs. Everything, in the moment was amazing. I wasn't thinking about the other problems. Nothing. Then we pulled up a place I never wanted to be. I knew she was having a party, but I didn't think he meant it to be this one.
"No," I said immediately "no I'm not going in there."
"Come on, its fine we got invited." Hayes said, urging me in. I huffed and let him lead me in. I followed far behind him, two arms lengths. I tried slowing him down, but to no avail. He was much stronger than me, and managed to pull me in the house.
It was warm in the warm in the house. I took off my jacket reluctantly and hung it up. Looking out into the house it was filled with kids from my school and others. All having fun. I looked at Hayes hoping for mercy.
"No, we can not go back," he looked at me with a smirk knowing I couldn't say anything to stop him. He pulled me through the crowd, people all said Hi to Hayes, but most just gave me funny looks.
We arrived at Diana, she was of course with the rest of my friends. They were happy to see Hayes but then he stepped aside showing that I was behind him. They didn't say anything, just looked between me and Hayes. I looked down avoiding their eyes. After I saw their feet walk away, I assumed it was safe to lift my head.
"You can't let them scare you forever," he said putting his hand under my chin, so I met his eyes.
I nodded and followed the group as they walked away from us. Diana was thankfully in the back of the group, if I was going to get to anyone it was her. I pulled her into a room when we passed.
"What?!" she yelled. I looked at her with a harsh look, trying to get her to shut up.
"What do you mean what! You're the one who has been ignoring me for a month!" she looked down embarrassed by what I had said to her. "So are you going to tell me what's going on?" I stood with my hands crossed.
"It's stupid," she said quietly.
"It's not stupid enough to ignore it. "
"Well, Wendy thinks you are a bitch to Hayes."
"What, I'm the only one that really talks to him now?"
"Yeah but she thinks since you're with Isaac, that you left Hayes out in the cold."
"I'm not with Isaac, I kissed him once."
"That's not what she thinks. "
"And what exactly does she think?" I asked getting testy.
