The Next Morning

♥Myras POV♥

I woke up to rain pounding against the large window in the living room. Looking around, I was the first one up, and I was sprawled across Hayes and Isaac. The power was still out, and it looked to be about eight in the morning, but the sun wasn't out, so it was hard to tell. I got up trying hard not to wake anyone up. My efforts where all for not, as soon as I heard a cry out from someone beneath me. Looking down I saw that I had stepped on Isaacs face.

"Sorry," I whispered,

"No problem I had to wake up anyways." He said sitting up and looking at me, "So did you want to be permanently branded by Hayes, or did he do that on his own?"

I looked down at my calf, "No, Hayes just did that on his own." I smiled at the memory.

"So are you and Hayes a thing, he seems pretty protective of you?"

"Umm, it’s kind of complicated." That was for sure.

"What does complicated mean?" What did complicated mean?

"Well, we don’t date, but get mad when the other is dating someone else." That was the best way to describe us. He nodded.

"So would Hayes be mad if I asked you out on a date?" He asked, and I blushed furiously.

"Yes, he probably would punch you." I said without any hint of sarcasm.

"You're kidding, right?"

"Not in the slightest, earlier in the summer I had a thing with a guy, and Hayes didn’t talk to me the whole time we were dating." I didn’t want to mention that the boy was Matt, and that he cheated on me.

"Oh, well, if you ever want to hang out or something, give me a call." He handed me a little piece of paper on it, and started to walk out.

"Wait, don’t you want to go to town with us?" I said grabbing his hand.

"But it's raining." He said looking outside.

"So, there’s no lightning, and it’s only drizzling, we can go out." I said smiling at him. He looked wary of the decision, but didn’t fight me, "Come on we're making breakfast."

I pulled him over to the connecting kitchen, he began to cut up fruit and I began to make pancakes. Thank god the stove was gas. I poured in the batter and waited for it to cook. I noticed a small, old, radio in the back corner of the kitchen, and picked it up. Pressing a few dials it sputtered on and scratchy pop tunes came out. Setting it down I returned to the pancakes, dancing while making them.

Isaac and I finished breakfast around ten and set it down on the clear carpet space. Waking everyone up, they attacked the food. I was afraid someone would lose a finger. When the feeding frenzy was over we all sat and enjoyed our pancakes.

"So, we are going into town today right?" Wendy asked.

"Yeah, none of us are sugar, we won’t melt." Chuck said with a mouthful of pancake.

We all laughed, and started the conversation on whether sugar actually melts in rain. We decided that it was worth trying, and that we should try it now, seeing as it was pouring out. I slipped on the bag for my cast, and headed outside. The rain was warm and gentle; nothing like it had been like last night. I stuck out my tongue and caught the rain in my mouth. (I swear if you make a sexual joke)

"Myra comes on." Harris yelled.

Reaching the group, they were gathered around the rock, they had poured a small amount of sugar on the flat surface.
