"One small step for man, one giant leap for mankind." Dad stated as he took a brief step towards the plane. I teasingly rolled my eyes in response and shuffled along with the crowd onto the large aircraft. My mum had been forced further forward in the queue when we were back in the airport, so I wasn't surprised to find her already seated in her allocated spot.

"Well, fancy seeing you here!" I joked once I was within hearing distance, and roughly threw myself down beside the window. "Been here long?"

"You get your sarcasm from your dad." She elbowed my ribs with a slight laugh; my dad mimicked her words.

"I'm not sarcastic!" He exclaimed. "I don't know what you mean..."

Mum sent me an amused smirk. "I rest my case."

"How long is this flight anyway?" Dad grunted as he forcibly clasped his seatbelt shut, checking his watch as if he was expecting it to reply. "I need the toilet."

"I asked you whether you needed to go or not before we even left the departure lounge." Mum rolled her eyes at her child-like husband, and I couldn't help myself as a humoured grin sketched its way across my lips. "I'm glad you think it's funny, Christina."

"Clearly my bladder's status amuses her." Dad muttered, receiving a slight jab in the arm. "No need for violence, dear."

Deciding to block out the childish bickering between my parents, I located my attention to the view from my window. It wasn't exciting, but the reasoning behind it surely was.

Taking out my phone, I slyly snapped a few photos of the sunrise, quickly sending one to both Lucas and Maria with the simple caption: "Here goes nothing".
