"And that's a wrap, ladies and gentleman!" The director called out as he carefully threw his hand in the air to gain attention. Upon doing so, my eyes immediately snapped to Lucas, who was still stood chatting to Amybeth beside the farmyard gate.
He was even more beautiful in person.
"Can the Cuthberts please go inside to film the second scene!" The director hastily instructed, watching as the cameramen gently pulled a waterproof cover over the camera for protection against the snow. "Everyone else can have a coffee break."
My body was frozen in place - or so I assumed - as I shyly observed Amybeth while she accompanied Geraldine on her venture to the farmhouse, leaving Lucas to frantically search his surroundings as if he had lost something.
I can't do this, can I?
Giggling at my own ridiculous behaviour, I slowly began making my way closer to him, attempting to silent my steps as they crunched against the snow.
This is it.
Frantically searching my mind for any reasonable first sentence that wouldn't appear too unusual, I decided to settle on the first thought that came to my head...
"Any dragons around here need slaying?" I coughed nervously with an innocent smile playing at my lips, examining Lucas' eyes as they instantly glanced upwards upon hearing the familiar line.
"I must admit, that sounds so much better in a British accent." He smirked boyishly with an amused expression, his eyes noticeably scanning my face and body.
"I bet." I smirked back, despite my heart pounding within my chest. His hazel eyes were sparkling with what I assumed to be delight as he stared back at me, a handsome smirk twisting at his rosy lips.
Then - soon enough - we were hugging one another, with my arms loosely wrapped around his neck, and his hands comfortably resting on my waist.
Different thoughts began pulsating around in my mind as we stood embracing one-another, and all of them somehow were drawn to the same conclusion:
"You smell good." I calmly whispered to no one in particular, feeling Lucas' shoulders as they shook with laughter. Did I really just say that out loud?
"You were right. You are a weirdo." He teased, slowly pulling back and examining my face once again. "But goddamn, you're beautiful."
"Do you really think so?" I blushed, creeping a stray strand of hair behind my ear.
"Of course I do... Wait, are you crying?" Lucas' eyes softened as his hand cupped my cheek, using a thumb to wipe away a tear that had unknowingly escaped. "Shit. After all that's happened, I forgot the tissues."
"I thought you weren't coming so soon..." I admitted, never wanting his hand to leave my cheek.
"Well... Surprise." He joked. "You look really good in that dress, by the way. It's a nice colour."
I instinctively stepped back a little so that he could view my outfit as a whole. "Thank you, I thought so too... It's not very warm though."
Lucas snapped his fingers with an idea.
"Come on then, we'll go get some coffee."
