"This is ridiculous. Why is my food always cold?" Dad sighed with despair as he took a seat beside myself at the dinner table. Mum decided we should stay in the hotel room for the night, as it would be a more comfortable atmosphere for when I received my audition's results.
"Because you always take so long in the shower." Mum tutted, digging into her feast of chicken kievs and chips. "Aren't you going to eat anything, Christina?"
"I feel sick." I shrugged, and arrogantly forced the plate of food away. "The nerves are beginning to settle in."
"I can imagine." She soon nodded with empathy. "I suspect you should be getting the results anytime soon - it's nearly eight."
As if by magic, my phone buzzed with an email. My heart immediately stopped.
"That should be it now." Dad stated, using his fork to childishly move the chips around his plate. "Do we have any tomato sauce?"
Blatantly ignoring my dad's request, mum urged me to open the email. "The more you wait, the worse you're making it for yourself."
My thumbs felt as if they had been frozen in place, yet I somehow managed to click on the icon 'read', revealing the email I had been dreading to see for the past 4 weeks of my life.
My eyes widened.
"Oh my god."
