The party was a lot louder than I had expected, especially since it wasn't necessarily for the 'younger generation'... In fact, it was deafening, and I could barely hear myself think. Nonetheless, I entered without a fuss and soon found myself looking for the boy I craved to see the most.

To my dismay, he was already towards the back of the large crowd of people, and appeared to be talking to a few female fans.

I sighed before turning away.

"I'll get us some drinks." Amybeth suggested, leaving me alone beside the chilly entrance. I nodded and glanced around the room a little more, hoping to see any other familiar face for me to talk to. Luckily, I found Christian.

"Hey." I greeted with a brief smile, allowing my eyes to travel to Lucas who was still completely zoned into the conversation he was having with a stranger. Christian smiled back as he paused from talking to his friend, making me notice the dimples I didn't know he had.

"What's up, Christina? I didn't think you'd talk to me..."

I frowned with curiosity.

"What? Why wouldn't I?"

Christian and his friend exchanged knowing looks, before finally returning their attention to me.

"It's just that I haven't spoken to you since the day you arrived." He shrugged, taking a quick swig from his glass of punch. "But I'm glad you're here."

"Yeah? Me too, I suppose..."

"Here's your drink!" Amybeth yelled above the music, causing the three of us to wince. "Sorry, was that loud?"

"Just a little." I teased, taking the cup from her grasp. "Thank you."

"Hey, Amybeth. What happened last night while we were on the phone? It was a little weird..." Christian's friend quizzed the dancing girl, making me immediately switch off from the conversation - I didn't know what it was he was talking about, and I had no interest in finding out either.

"You alright, Miss?" A familiar voice asked from behind me, and I turned quickly to see Lucas standing with a playful grin on his face.

"Lucas!" I smiled, bringing him into a friendly hug. "I know we've just got here, but can we go outside for a bit? My ears are ringing."

"Sure." He shrugged casually before taking ahold of my hand and leading me towards the fire exit. My heart pounded as he did so, the sudden contact making my breath hitch at the back of my throat - why was I like this?

Soon enough, the two of us were alone outside with nothing more than the low humming of music and the soft hooting of owls. The stars above us reminded me of the first day I had arrived, and how Lucas had shown me the city view from the cliff edge... And how much I had loved it.

"It's so peaceful out here." I sighed before clumsily laying down in the snow. Lucas shot me a questioning look, but nonetheless lay down beside me. "I hate loud music."

"Me too." He stated, pointing up towards the night sky. "Hey, how does the moon cut his hair?"

I rolled my eyes playfully, already aware that this was the start of a very bad joke.

"How?"

Lucas shot me a handsome smile before replying, "Eclipse it."

I groaned with frustration and teasingly shoved him to the side, only to receive the same boyish grin in return.

"That was a good one, you've got to admit."
