"Get into your places everybody!" The director loudly instructed, soon followed by a hurried crowd of actors and actresses moving towards the Cuthbert's farm house. My character wasn't involved in the scene, but I decided to stand by the camera and watch.

"Here, take this." Amybeth quickly whispered, handing me a fresh script. It must have been newly printed as it still felt warm against my mittened fingers. "It's a spare one, so you can follow along with our lines."

"Thank you." I smiled gratefully as she briskly marched to her place on the front porch.

Briefly flipping through a few of the booklet's pages, I noticed that Gilbert Blythe was supposed to show up half-way through the scene. Upon finding this out, my heart sank.

"And... Action!"

Amybeth immediately sprung to life, announcing her lines like an angel and hypnotising me from the moment she first spoke. I couldn't help but watch her with a heavy lump stuck in my throat, causing me to silently choke every so often as I watched the scene unravel before my very eyes.

"This is amazing," I thought to myself, barely able to tear my eyes away from what was happening. Everything appeared so real and emotional, and I found it hard to believe that these actors were only playing scripted roles.

Tracing the warm script with my fingers, I noticed Gilbert's lines were quickly advancing on the page, and it was only a few moments until it was his turn to speak.

"Enter Gilbert Blythe", it read.

I held my breath, expecting the director to call 'cut' as it was surely impossible for the scene to continue with a missing character... But then I stopped breathing all together.

"Gilbert!" Amybeth's character exclaimed with pure excitement as she swiftly sprinted past both Jerry and the horses. My burning gaze followed her every move until I came to a sudden realisation.

Lucas was here.

The two characters instantly embraced one another by the farmyard's gate, the joy of both somehow overwhelming myself and others.

"I knew it," I whispered to myself with tears brimming my lashes. "I just knew I was going to cry."

A/N I honestly loved writing this chapter so much, even though my heart wouldn't stop (and still is) pounding, and I now feel like crying...
