Dylan's pov
"How dare you kiss me like that?!" Elya yelled at me.
"What? I am your girlfriend!" I yelled back.
Elya rolled her eyes. "My fake girlfriend. As in not real." She stressed out.
"So? I have to in order to make us look real." I reasoned.
She sighed. Coming out of fifth period, I saw Elya in the hallway at her locker and her girlfriend was heading towards her. So, I guess to keep her away from Elya, I ran up to her and smashed my lips onto hers. When she pushed me off of her, she saw her girlfriend running away from us, the way she came. I mean it wasn't that bad. "Are you fuckin' serious?! You know what? Why don't you and I fake break up then. So, we could make that look real." She said, unhappy with our situation. "Yeah, you know what? Lets go to the cafeteria right now. We'll just have to announce to everyone that we're no longer together. Since the majority of the student body saw you kiss me." She suggested. I for one, wasn't in the mood to even be in this bathroom fighting with her.
I rolled my eyes. "Instead of making a fool out of both of us. We should go to lunch like normal people." I told her.
"You know what, Dylan? How about-" Elya stopped what she was going to say. We both looked towards the entrance of the bathroom. Kacine had entered.
"Hey, sorry to barge in. I have to really use the bathroom." She said, as she made her way towards a stall.
"It's alright. " I said, calmly.
When she was done using the bathroom, she washed her hands quickly. "Okay, carry on." With that said, Elya and I watched her leave.
Elya turned to look at me. "You know, maybe it was a mistake trying to re-gain a friendship, that we once had. We shouldn't even talk." She said, regretful.
I shook my head. "No, please Eli. I promise I won't do anything stupid to try and take you away from her. Okay, please?" I promised. "I guess I'm still not over you." I explained.
"Why?" She asked.
I was a little puzzled by the question. "Well, because...you're an amazing person, which I do admit that I had screwed up my chances with. And I know it's only been ten months ago that we had dated, but I still have these feelings for you." I told her, truthfully.
She stood there for a minute taking in everything I just poured out to her. She sighed. "Dylan." She said, calmly.
"Yes?" I said, cautiously.
"I don't want us to be more than friends or any less." She began. "I can say, however, I believe that I do still have feelings for you as well." She admitted. My eyes brighten to the sound of her saying that. "But, just because I confessed that, doesn't mean I can just leave my girlfriend and hook up back with you." She said. "I do love her. She means everything to me. Her heart is what I'm currently holding possession of. And I can't afford to break and lose it." She explained. "So, the closes relationship you and I will ever have, is a friendship." She concluded.
I sighed. I knew that, that was the only way I could be around her more. I also knew she was serious about her current relationship. I then realized I was wasting my time. Chasing after someone I thought I could possibly get back and never let go. But of course, I was wrong. I took a deep breath. "Just promise me two things." I said, with tears beginning to stream down my cheeks.
