It was the first Halloween that you would be celebrating without your parents. It was almost a year after they had died, and the Kim family had just started getting used to life without parents.
This Halloween, you would be dressing up as a pink princess. Jin had helped you come up with what you wanted to be and he even made a few of your props for you. Jungkook was being a police officer and Taehyung was his detective. Jimin was Mickey Mouse (a last minute idea because he couldn't make up his mind) and Hoseok was Darth Vader. The others were going to go eat out or something while Hoseok took charge of the young ones. Jin told him it would make him more responsible.
Jin finished the final touches on your dress before he gave you your scepter. He grinned and combed his fingers through your silky hair one more time. "My baby sis is the prettiest princess!" You giggled, giving him a kiss on the cheek before hugging his neck tightly. "Thank you, Jinnie!"
He got up from the floor and took your hand before walking out of his room. Jungkook stormed towards you two, clad in his police costume. "Have either of you seen my baton?"
"No," Jin responded. "I told you to put all your stuff in one spot so you wouldn't lose it."
The thirteen year old scowled. "You don't have to remind me."
"I don't like your tone." Jin crossed his arms, giving Jungkook a death stare.
You parted from your bickering siblings and waddled off to Jungkook's room. You looked under the bed and smiled before pulling out his baton. You went to exit the bedroom when Taehyung came in and smiled.
"Aren't you adorable?" he gushed, pinching your cheek. "You want to help me real quick?"
You nodded before following Taehyung over to his closet in the shared room. Taehyung pulled out two ties and held them towards you. One was plain red while the other was a royal blue. "Which one looks better with my costume?" He held each one up separately and you took notice of his blue blazer and blue shorts. You frowned.
"Neither one of them."
He frowned with you. But you moved past him, your big pink dress swishing around you like a bubble. You grabbed a red bow tie off the floor of his closet and handed it to him. "I like this one!"
He smiled and kissed your forehead. "Thank you, sis!"
You remembered Jungkook's dilemma so you excused yourself from Taehyung and carried the missing baton to your brother wherever he was. You walked over to the stairs but two hands grabbed your waist and lifted you up.
"You're going to get so much candy if you're that cute!" Hoseok giggled. "My dongsaeng is too precious!"
"Hobi, have you seen Jungkookie?" you asked after you kissed his cheek.
"I'm afraid not, (Y/N)," he answered. He sat you down on the ground. "Do you want to go look for him?"
You shrugged and looked at Jimin who was walking up the stairs. "I like your outfit, Chim!"
He grinned. "Why thank you. I like yours, too!"
"Have you seen Jungkook?" you asked yet again.
"Mhm, he's downstairs," Jimin replied.
"Do you want to go with me and Hobi to return this?" You held up the baton and Jimin nodded his head. "Of course."
You held Hobi's hand as you walked down the stairs and Jimin led you to the kitchen. "(Y/N) has something for you, Kookie," Jimin sang as he walked in.
Jungkook looked at you and you ran up to him with his baton. Jungkook smiled and his eyes lit up with joy. "Where did you find it?"
"It was under your bed," you responded. "Don't lose it, okay?"
"Okay, sis," he laughed, patting your head.
"Oh, is this your crown?" Jimin asked, picking up and silver and pink tiara off the kitchen counter.
You nodded and walked over to him and pointed to your head. "Can you help me put it on?"
Jimin grabbed it and bent down to you. He brushed through your hair before he carefully set the crown on your head. He fixed it to where it was straight and then he looked up at the figure standing behind you.
"Don't forget this, either," Hoseok said as he handed you your silver scepter. "Taehyung found it in his room."
You told him thank you before Jin entered the kitchen. "Are you guys ready?"
"Yes!" You ran past him and to the front door, waiting for your brothers while you anticipated the night to come.

SPOOPY WEEK STORY TIME
So I have always been awkward and have never really liked talking in public like to strangers or really anybody. I've always been scared that I might mess up or something. Well one Halloween, I was happy that I had said "thank you" and "please" and all the necessary things that need to be said on Halloween while trick or treating. It was like the last house or something and this guy was on his porch step and he had his bowl of candy and he probably middle aged or something with like kids and already married for five years you know? (I was like ten.) But I walked up and I just bypassed all the "Happy Halloween" sayings and just flat out said "thank you" and he hadn't given me any candy at all yet and I just kind of got really flustered as he gave me more candy than he had given other kids.
And of course my dad was laughing about it but I just continued to eat candy.
